What do I get my M partner for Christmas

I did the leather wallet, belt, craft lamp and other stuff for Christmas before and also his birthdays.

I have no idea what to get him any more.

He doesn't have any hobbies outside of work - he doesn't read books or listen to music or anything else.

He's usually a practical type of person.

I got him an electrical toothbrush but I have no idea what else to get him.

I was thinking about a food voucher?

What else can I get him?

Tell us a bit more about this.
What does he do when he's not at work?

My failsafe is cashmere socks

Does he wear pyjamas?
Like baths or showers?
Have a bucket list?
Enjoy certain foods?
Like cooking?

A night away for you both somewhere lovely?

a tootbrush?! Christ I’d be effed off to get that for Christmas

PTSDBarbiegirl · 11/12/2023 10:48

What is 'M' partner, male or married?

AMuser · 11/12/2023 10:49

That’s deepily unhelpful sorry. I find Not On the High Street good for random Inspo. Men are hard to buy for

JustFrustrated · 11/12/2023 10:49

Experience voucher?
Booze that's not easily available?
Good socks? My FIL loves his seasonal socks!

Male otherwise they’d say husband or wife, no?

My husband got me one last year, I was quite pleased!

Would have assumed male anyway from the 'he' throughout! Wondered about married because surely you don't need to specify 'M' when 'he' is all over the post? I must be behind the times, oh well!

Socks, jocks and chocs, every time. But nice ones of all 3. And a nicer version of things he already owns and likes, eg one year we did some better quality headphones than his current ones, another year some higher end shirts for work, another year a fancy keyboard for his pc. None are mind blowingly exciting obviously but he's liked all them, and I learned the hard way over a number of Christmases that unexpected surprise gifts are often not as well received as nicer versions of familiar things.

BiscuitsandPuffin · 11/12/2023 11:00

OP he sounds really boring. What on earth does he do with his time? There must be something unless he just sits on a chair and doesn't move until it's time to go to work again. What is it about him that interests you? What do the two of you do together? I'm asking because this will lead you to the right present instead of generic slosh like a belt or wallet which is what you get for that 16-year-old nephew you've never seen in years but feel compelled to buy a present for. It's not what you buy someone you share your life with. And a food voucher? WTF?? Are you trying to tell him you think he's shit at independent living?

muddyford · 11/12/2023 11:01

A good torch?

luckylavender · 11/12/2023 12:51

uncomfortablydumb53 · 11/12/2023 13:36

uncomfortablydumb53 · 11/12/2023 13:39

Not sure of your budget for extras but a Water Flosser to go with the toothbrush
I have a Fairy Will brand one from Amazon which is good and cheaper than the Water pik
