For DC, boys, 6 and 8.

So far, I have....bath bomb.

That's it! Looking for skne alternative ideas. Will get some Christmas themed sweets/chocolate.

Finding it hard to balance between cheap tat and too expensive (but good presents....)

I've got:
a character t shirt
lego keyring
fart ninja
rubiks star
I usually also get something like felt tips and some little chocolate reindeer or similar. I know my 8 year old would adore a Vbucks giftcard but I don't know if I will give in to that...

I think the fart ninja may be the most popular!

I've had a lot of delight in previous years with kazoos, but obviously you may not want that joy first thing in the morning.

The PlayMobil blind bags are reasonably priced for figures with several accessories.

Shaped post-it notes go down well. You can get packs of them in all sorts of shapes on Amazon.

Bemyclementine · 13/11/2023 16:04

Urgh fart ninja looks like a hit! I don't know what vbucks are.....

Shaped post it notes are a good idea too thanks.

On the lookout for interesting/different pens

10 year old boy- electric shock joke pen,
Phone stand, catapult with fake poos to flick, funny socks, tangfastics tube, prime key ring, fidget/gadget spinner & some bath bombs.

I've got girls, aged 6 and 4. They have:

Tube of smarties

A strange looking guava drink I picked up in the World Food Aisle in Sainsbury's (this is a tradition, I buy drinks/snacks from other countries and tell them Father Christmas picked them up on his travels.)

Small book each. DD1 has one of those "choose your own adventure" books where you turn to different pages depending on what you decide to do.

Fluffy socks.

Bakugan figures.

Pokémon cards.

Bath bomb.

Colour changing bubble bath.

New electric toothbrushes themed with their favourite character.

Chocolate coins (again, a tradition)

Schleich toy animal each for their collection.

Magic trick type stuff? I got Spy Glasses least year (they look like sunglasses but have a mirror so you can see what's behind you :)).

My DC are a bit older but this year I've got a Would You Rather cards from Sainsbo, Xmas socks and a farting sprout

Peabody25 · 13/11/2023 16:49

My two boys are 4.5 & 9 but also have girls aged 6.5 & 8. We have small stockings and they get presents in a hessian bag.
Hot Wheels car.
Whoopee cushion.
Stationery (calculator/tape dispenser/pens).
Yo Yo.
Note pads.
Mini Lego or Playmobil figure.
Schleich animal figure (mine collect big cats, Reptiles, & dogs).
Mug cake sachet & mug.
I-Spy books.
Top Trumps.
Badges.
Keyrings.

Pez dispensers were a hit last year.
Sweets they like.

Spy Pen.
This isn’t all for one stocking.

DSs are 11 and 7 so far I have:

  • everyone (including adults) gets a second hand book
  • Xmas thank you paper (January sales)
  • Lego set (build a pen jar for their desk)
  • socks (again, everyone gets Xmas socks)
  • A Beano Annual
  • A puzzle set
  • Xmas tree decoration with name on it (one every year and they can use them to start their own tree collections when older)
  • chocolate
  • whiteboard pens for the one with a whiteboard

There will almost certainly also be fun bath stuff, some stationery (pencils with their names on were a huge hit a few years ago) and possibly next size up onesies (because tradition dictates that Father Xmas brings PJs).

Badatthis · 13/11/2023 21:37

We've gone with lots of fidgets, swimming goggles, chocolate coins, a satsuma, a small soft toy, joke book.

heidipi · 14/11/2023 08:41

@Bemyclementine Morrisons! Their £1 section was good last year too - I got mini stylus pen things for phones etc from there which are still going strong
