Toys that are loved year after year

What toys/gifts have your children enjoyed/played with frequently for several years? I've had some flops, and I hate spending so much time and money to end up with something that's pushed aside after a week or 2.

Things that have lasted several years here are loose duplo (but not lego 🤔), cars & hot wheels garage, octonauts figures/guys, peppa pig castle/people, the playmobil farm advent from 2 years ago, rc monster truck, light up balls. Oh and the oldest's scooter. Both kids (now almost 5 and almost 2) play with all several times a week - often together!

Fingers crossed for the huge wooden train sets we're building this year and their rc trains...

Leapfrog Scoop And Learn Ice Cream Cart. I originally bought it for my niece a few years ago but every new niece/nephew that came along afterwards have loved it too.

Wooden blocks. My father made them for us by cutting (and sanding the rough edges) of loads of lengths of wood about 15mm x 15mm. Some full.length at about 15cm, and some half that.

Used in so many situations! Furniture for Sindy/Barbie dolls, as bunkers to be knocked over, to build to highest tower possible etc by myself and my brother

DD has incorporated them into Lego installations, 'teacher teacher' with her soft toys and many more!

Cheap, it doesn't matter if some get lost, and endless possibilities!

@Baital mine has repurposed the jenga blocks that he also plays with in various different ways. Sweet that your father handmade them Smile
The magnetic tiles here too, they've been played with a lot. Plus any sort of dinosaur figure. I would also say play doh but I hate the stuff and have hidden it Blush
