Gifts for volunteers

We have some volunteers coming to help with a work event nearer Christmas and I would like to get them a token gift to show my appreciation. There is no work budget for this so hoping to stick to £3 a head as there are 15 of them so including wrap and a pack of cards I would be £50 in total out of my pocket.

what sort of thing are they coming to do? I'd be more inclined to just make sure they're well looked after and kept fed / watered, get a break etc on the day. If I'd signed up to volunteer at something I definitely wouldn't expect a gift but when you go somewhere to help and don't get chance for a loo or drink break for many hours then I start to feel slightly less appreciated.

A bottle of Shloer (the limited edition winter spiced punch) is under £3

@NotFastButFurious definately well taken care of but all volunteer regularly and feel I need to give them a little thank you. The individuals they are supporting by volunteering receive a gift from Father Christmas at this event but everyone gets tea, coffee, mince pies/shortbread and take part in a sing along. We literally couldn’t run the event without their help.

@Forgottenmyphone hot chocolate bombs could be a shout.

I'm a volunteer and would rather get a lovely thank you card and special thanks at the event than a very low value gift. I know you want to show your appreciation, but a hand-written personalised note would mean far more to me than anything else.

I agree with @olderbutwiser I'd rather you saved your own money than gave me a hot chocolate bomb!

Last Amaryliss bulbs were about £3 each in Lidl

Just checked they are £4 this year. What about a chocolate Santa they were very reasonable in Aldi last year

This. Make sure they have lots of loo breaks and tea. I had a entire morning of interviews as a governor and that was my overriding feelings. No break to use the loo! Little things matter

I’d appreciate any token gift. What about a basket with a selection of small things like a chocolate Santa, some frothy coffee sachets, new pens etc and let them have a lucky dip? Itwms could have a value of 30p-£1 that way and people have a nice wee token gift plus a card of thanks that is personalised. Eg thank you stan for your cheery jokes. Thank you Mary for your kind words and encouragement. Etc.
