I want to make my early 20's dd a small food/condiments hamper.
Is there anything that is on trend that I could put in?
No allergies. Likes savoury treats.
Ideas so far are are additionals to the protein bagel she has for lunch:

Lao Gan Ma Crispy Chilli
King Naga
Poons Chilli Vinegar
Hot Honey

crisps

Zhoug (for with falafel)
She likes Vadasz red onions or Mezzetta sliced Jalapeños and often has these with hot sauce and rocket on meat/fish/egg/cheese base. She isn't keen on kimchi.
She does like a healthy option- or a treat Cake- but flavour is the most important.

Any ideas for small producers or big supermarket finds?

No idea if they are on trend, but I like them! I guess she likes chilli! 😅

Bacon jam Bacon Jam - Eat17 I used to buy it from Sainsburys, but can't find it on their website anymore!

Wild Hibiscus Flowers in Syrup | Ocado Not new, I had them at my wedding 12yrs ago, but if she likes champagne/processo they are pretty to add to the glass and the bubbles makes the flower open up. The flower is edible too!

Badu's - Make an Indian Feast (badusindianfeast.co.uk) Delicious and quick to make at home

Thai Chilli Paste 228g - Thai Food Direct or red/green/yellow Thai curry paste base

Sun Hee Gochujang Sun Dried Red Chilli Paste 170g | Sainsbury's (sainsburys.co.uk)

eat17 bacon jam

Bacon Jam

A smoky, sticky relish with bacon. Is it a jam, a spread or a relish? When it tastes this good, who cares? Jam it on some crusty bread or cheese. Spread it on your sarnie or relish it in a burger.

Thank you. She definitely likes bacon jam.

Not much of a drinker, but we had a cocktail making ingredients box one year and this was a real hit over the Christmas/New Year period.

I'm going to order the Thai and Indian as these look great.

If she is a foodie like myself, what about a cooking course or a 1 off lesson? Maybe a voucher in the hamper?

Some restaurants run classes. If she is in London, there is:

I did a Yosushi class pre-covid and still make sushi often. YO! Sushi School (yosushi.com) IF you got a voucher for that, you could include sushi rice, a bamboo bowl, paddle, rolling mat, pickled ginger, nori sheets etc in the hamper.

Waitrose Cookery School

If you love preparing and eating good food, you'll love our hands-on cookery classes. Book a course and sharpen your cookery skills or learn something new.

That sounds very cool. I like the idea of a set of Japanese ingredients anyway so that's something I can definitely buy.

A cookery book?
A nice flask she can reuse

Those items you have already picked sound delicious

The gochujang paste that @SM4713 linked is great and lasts ages!

Headunderthecovers · 25/10/2023 21:38

I'm getting her the Stanley Quencher water bottle for home- although it's out of stock currently in the neutral colour I want.
She 'collects' different shape mugs - which is quite difficult as there are only so many shapes a mug can be. She likes more modern farmhouse style.

She follows recipes online mostly- so books aren't used so much.
The gochujang she did cook a good pork loin recipe with the Waitrose one.
The hamper idea is because she really likes looking at ingredients and thinking what to use them for. She appreciates where it's a thoughtful gift.

I'd also include snacks or something from her childhood, she might like the nostalgia of it amongst all the cool 'grown up' bits.

Headunderthecovers · 25/10/2023 22:06

I hadn't thought of that. Definitely doing that!
