Starting to get December plans pencilled in and have found this fair, we'd be going to Harrogate - has anyone been?

Is it worth it? Is it worth paying more for the girft bag ticket?

(Or is there a bigger Christmas fair we should set our sights on??)

I've managed to get free tickets via Stylist magazine for the past couple of years
Wouldn't pay to get in tbh

It's always very busy, food options are awful

But it is vv Christmassy

I would plan to arrive v early and have breakfast at Bettys or the Ivy just up the road first and then hit the fair at 10, go out for lunch

I don't think it's worth the extra £ for vip - save that to spend!

Thank you! Just looking for very christmassy things quite local as friend a bit out out she can't come to european christmas markets with us (as has a new baby!)

Went to a fabulous craft fayre in Edinburgh last month and all the stalls were genuinely handmade/artisan goods and was hoping this would be similar!

I've been to the London one a few times but last year we decided it's our last time and we'll look for something else . It just doesn't feel particularly festive , maybe because the venue is just too big , and the ratio of Xmas stalls to general stuff is too small . Most of the stalls you'd find in any local country show imo .
If I was going for the first time I'd plan it with a meal as it's not enough to keep the interest for a whole day especially if you are travelling a distance to get there .

Ahh interesting, thanks! Its about an hour away so we'd do a long weekend and go shopping in harrogate and hebden bridge too.

Just wish someone would put on a properly magical christmas market!!!
