Hello! Thinking of getting our children Merlin passes for Christmas, this would be their main presents. Any ideas for how we can present this to them in an exciting way....? Children are 10 and 7.

I’d create a PowerPoint or print out pictures of all the different places you can go with the Merlin pass and then say they can choose one to go to as their Christmas present, when they’ve chosen one place I’d give them the passes and say you don’t have to choose… we can go to all of them

We have merlin passes. Not sure what type your getting but our platinum ones come with packs that have the physical passes etc in. So if that I'd wrap that up.
I believe the others are digital only though

How old are the children? Ours are young and absconders so we have specific theme park tops. It's how we identify them when we go to them 🙈

A PowerPoint is a good one though.

I think it will be tricky to get the wow factor from this age of kids, as it relies on them thinking about having fun at some point in the future. I'm not saying they won't like the gift, just that this kind of gift would probably work best alongside other kinds of gifts. I'm not familiar with Merlin passes though.

Ideas for gifting:

  • Video showing the magic
  • Wrap up personalised Merlin t shirts
  • photos if you’ve been to any of them before

On Etsy people sell scratch card type reveals so you can add whatever text underneath the scratchable surface. I'm not sure what you'd search as I came across them by accident when looking at Harry Potter items. Hopefully helpful if a bit vague!

I would do a ‘pass the parcel’ style wrapping and in each layer there is a clue or picture to what it is. The first layer they open is a wrapped big cardboard box. If you have the physical passes these are in the last layer. If not you can print something off or even get one of the boomf cards printed (with confetti) to say what it is.

I would do a hamper with treats for the journey and include things like light up wands/glow sticks that you might be able to use. Or mini Lego for legoland, something shrek or sealife related if you plan on going there. Maybe a note book/pencils to keep them entertained on the journey.

Oh fantastic ideas on here thank you ❤️ I like the little packs and the pass the parcel idea. Knew I could rely on the Christmas forum for some good ideas!

Love the pass the parcel idea.

I’d also look at tying a note to a helium balloon and popping it into a big box

They are 7 and 10. My 5 year old was bouncing round the room when she was given a ticket to Legoland because she was so excited. No big reveal was required (not to say that a big reveal wouldn’t be lovely though!).

OP you could have a look at some of the Disney reveals on YouTube to give you ideas. You could pack a little backpack with things like a millennium wheel snow globe, legoland water bottle etc.
