I have most of DD's- she will be nearly 2 at Xmas. She has:

  • beanbag for her room
  • playmobil 123 set
  • Noah's ark
  • some play food

Stocking:
-bath squirters

  • playmobil 123 figures
-paint sticks -sticker book -wooden animals -cake mix and cookie cutter -sound puzzle -book

I will probably add some bath crayons, play dough cutters and paint rollers to get stocking. Then some books and bath colour drops to her main presents.

Her list of ideas for other people across Xmas and her birthday includes:

  • dot markers
  • Melissa and Doug pattern blocks
  • messy play tray
  • kinetic sand
  • play dough tools
  • one of those fastening teddies for practising zips etc.
  • bath toys
  • first train set
  • fisher price puppy
  • dolls buggy
  • ikea rolling trolley for her art supplies
  • bedding
  • clothes
  • wall stickers for her room
  • books
  • doll
  • vtech bus
  • megabloks train
  • music CDs
  • art and craft supplies
  • orchard toys games
  • go find it scavenger hunt game
  • fine motor tool set
  • first scooter
  • hair accessories

Seems like a lot but family like lots of ideas to choose what they like from

Cuwins · 23/08/2023 13:37

My partner the only idea I have so far is Spotify subscription and I think there are a couple of switch games he is after.

My sister has socks and bath bombs. May add an afternoon tea voucher.

My mum has some chocolate but has been mumbling about new binoculars so may add them.
My dad and in-laws no idea!

Friends little boy who will be just over 2 maybe an aqua drawing mat.

Cuwins · 23/08/2023 13:38

On my list I have a Fitbit, a couple of cook books, a rice cooker or Lakeland vouchers towards and a sudoku book.

Spookyseasonmum · 23/08/2023 14:08

DS4 - new magnetic letters, maybe a new iPad as his old one broke and one of those fibre-optic lamps with all the tiny strands, surprisingly difficult to find these days.

DD2 - toy horses, dress up costumes

DH - Video game or console of his choosing and some little simple bits like his favourite biscuits and toiletries

I'd quite like a lovely candle or a bottle of something strong to warm me up over the winter

Hibernatalie · 23/08/2023 14:17

@Spookyseasonmum yeah I want a nice candle too - and some posh gin. I saw a honey gin the other day for £45!! Would never buy it for myself.

@Franticbutterfly Zara aftershave is a great shout, adding to list for DH. I also want some Zara perfume. My list is getting longer...

Hibernatalie · 23/08/2023 14:18

@Cuwins my kids are moving into new bedrooms in December, love the idea of bean bags.

mondaytosunday · 23/08/2023 14:43

My 18 year old has said only books or cash. Long list of books, though she is annoyingly addicted to rummaging around charity shops and buying them for herself! I was going to get her the complete Jane Austen set.
My son: cash, though I'll come up with a couple wrapped things too.
Older sister: XL tote bag with sewing machine on it as she - guess what - uses a sewing machine for her craft work. Need to find something else as well.
Younger sister: same thing with a design reflecting the meaning of her name; thermos with same.
Friend (only buy something if seeing someone in Xmas day, otherwise family only): book bag.

I'm trying to cut down on gift expenditure. We are going to the US to visit my family and will be going out quite a bit, so will treat my sister here and there. I know one sister will take my daughter to the ballet.

Cuwins · 23/08/2023 15:30

Hibernatalie · 23/08/2023 14:18

@Cuwins my kids are moving into new bedrooms in December, love the idea of bean bags.

We have got DD a toddler sized beanbag chair with a lion on it as her room is safari themed. It comes in an impressively large box to although she doesn't care about that

Hibernatalie · 23/08/2023 15:37

@mondaytosunday I'm exactly like your daughter! I keep an Amazon wish list of books, then remove them when I find them in a charity shop. I send DH the link and once he starts shopping (early December) I am banned from buying any more.

CoffeeChocolateWine · 23/08/2023 20:29

DS(14 - 15 just before Christmas) is always quite predictable so he's the only one I really know what I'm getting at the moment.
We've pre-ordered FIFA game for his birthday.
Annual pass for local theme park
He collects football shirts so will probably get him a couple of mystery shirts for birthday/Christmas.
Nike tech fleece jogger bottoms
Dumbbells
Cricket bag
Probably some gaming bits but will wait till nearer the time

DD(5) - I have a magic mixie thing already as bought it last year but she threw me a last minute curve ball so I swapped it out and put it away for this year instead!

DD(11) - is super creative so I'm thinking a sewing machine or maybe a drawing tablet. Not sure yet.

DH - no idea but whisky is always a staple!

Hibernatalie · 24/08/2023 22:59

@CoffeeChocolateWine oh yes I remember those magic nixie toys were huge last year. I considered one for my DD but she might be just slightly too old for it now

OP posts:
lastseasonstop · 25/08/2023 07:29

DS (15) would like and we will get him a new x box. Hoping for a combined deal with either headphones or games in Black Friday.

DH I am unsure. Possibly airpods but I have also seen a BBQ that he would like. That comes under household thought so I may stretch to both. It’s this:

https://www.johnlewis.com/lotusgrill-standard-portable-smokeless-charcoal-barbecue-32cm/anthracite/p5877620

Granny is happy with anything. She likes nice food and trinkets, scarves. Not sure what to buy yet but there will be something, I’m sure on the bargain threads to suit.

My sister loves candles and anything relaxing, flowers and wine.

Sisters DH likes gin, beer and snacks.

Niece and Nephew who are 19 and 17 Probably cash and chocolate.

That’s all I buy for.

TheGirlWhoLived · 25/08/2023 09:48

Dh - football shirt, Armani aftershave, backpack/lunch bag for work and sunglasses

DMum- a stepper

DDad- a hot hamper (chilli pickled onions, chilli crackers, wasabi peanuts, chilli puffs, couple of hot sauces and some socks that say ‘hot stuff’)

Dbro- the same

Dsis- jewellery and handbag

DSis-in-law- imperial candle

DNiece- whatever she wants nearer the time, Melissa and Doug set if she doesn’t choose something else!

DNiece2- Melissa and Doug set. She’ll be just turned one so easy as pie to buy for
Dd1- air pod case, Apple Watch SE, make up, skincare, Nike clothes

Dd2- not sure yet… some basic make up and skincare bits, robux, phone case. She’s a tricky little sausage to buy for this year! Definitely some clothes but she’s 9 and has most other ‘big’ things which is annoying. She prefers experiences so might buy her some vouchers for fun things.

Ds- a bunch of wooden track, Thomas tank engine, some pots and pans for his kitchen and a remote controlled car

Ivalueloyaltyaboveallelse · 25/08/2023 11:08

DC1 - Football shirt, aftershave, Air up bottle, designer boxers, clothes, vouchers for Xbox and Steam. A new Apple Watch, a new custom Xbox controller and a Go karting voucher.

DC2- Air pod pros, Minecraft Oodie, Air up bottle, new pro controller for Switch, new phone case, clothes, vouchers for Xbox and Steam, Harry Potter Lego set and something else not sure what yet.

DH -aftershave and clothes

Me -perfume and luxury skincare products.

Eldest nieces and nephews- Money

youngest nephew- Wintertide Bear book and a fun toy

no idea for everyone else

Incywincydidntknowwhattodo · 25/08/2023 18:49

5 x DC ages 3 to 14 = All of the Lego! I'm sure they'll come up with a list in a month or so, but we have a couple of birthdays to get through first. However, they're all mad over Lego!

Dc3 I did think of a marble run, maybe.

Mum: Crocs flip flops and a canvas of the DC.

Dad: Haven't a clue. 76 with dementia, possibly a photo memory book?

Husband: New piece of gym equipment, Kindle books, and I've no other ideas.

Eagerly reading everyone else's lists for inspiration.

tinkertots · 25/08/2023 23:12

Place-marking as I'm currently doing my list and I am drawing blanks!

So far I've bought myself, dh, dd4 and dd2
Some matching pjs for Christmas Eve.
DD's have both asked for bikes - worried that getting them to fit now will mean too small come Spring when the weather will break enough to use them

Mindovermatter247 · 25/08/2023 23:24

DS 15 just got a new iPad as his broke, so we’ve agreed it’s part of his Christmas present.
he’s asked for a few switch games
I’ll probs get him some new AirPods
and then his stocking presents

dd 10
ive got a few ideas in mind but I usually wait until after her birthday In September to see what she does and doesn’t get
she has mentioned some Nintendo switch games that come out after her birthday so I’ll probs get them.
she loves Lego… I’ve seen a new Lego set she will like so will an eye.
I’ve jotted down a few ideas for stocking prezzies.

sunshineandrain82 · 26/08/2023 10:31

Mine are somewhat predictable.

DSD will be 16 just before Christmas. Mostly cadet stuff as she's asking for bits. Pandora, books.

Dd will be 10 just before Christmas. She is in need of a new bike. Pandora, yoto mini and cards (so they stop fighting over one)

Ds6 he has asked for a ps5 which we managed to get for a good price, Lego city sets, yoto mini and cards

Dd3 a strider bike, train track, duplo. We are considering a Nintendo switch lite as she takes her siblings when they are trying to play on theirs 🤔 but needs to be a semi decent price.

Family wise
DM and DD unknown
Sister and her partner have a need for serving bowls
Neices and nephew (x3) £10-20 gift card
Nan (x2) photo calendars
Brothers and partners (x3) box of biscuits/sweets. As we buy for the children.

DP usually wants something army related. He will send me the link for the specific thing at some point.

DustyLee123 · 26/08/2023 12:11

I always do a hamper for my elderly DF. Posh crisps, mulled wine, jars of sauces from M&S, those spicy biscuits from Aldi etc. He loves it.

Hibernatalie · 26/08/2023 13:07

Just had an awesome idea for DH - a 3d printer. Also found a set of books he'd like.

Today I picked up a huge box of 75 colouring pens from WH Smith, £10 but BOGOF. I will probably give one set to DD and one set to my friends DD.

OP posts:
Hibernatalie · 26/08/2023 13:08

@DustyLee123 I did hampers for family last year and they went down really well. Just don't have the time this year.

OP posts:
Hibernatalie · 27/08/2023 13:09

Just picked up some knight toys from a car boot sale for DS and he absolutely loves them, so adding a medieval castle to his list!
