Christmas | Cottage to hire?

After another stressful Christmas at home, I'm just not doing it again. I'm actually sick through the stress.

Can anyone recommend a "cottage hire" company or something similar?

TIA

Where in the country do you want to go? Hoseasons has loads of options, we have just got back from Otter Falls.
If you do go away make sure to get a food delivery booked in advance as soon as the Christmas slots come out, or have a check in early enough to get settled and go shopping. Our check in was after 4pm, which meant we arrived when the kids were getting hungry and had to go straight out to the shops because we hadn't booked a delivery and didn't have any room in the back because of all the presents.

We’ve just got back from a holiday cottage, we booked it through one of the websites , added Christmas decorations into the filters and there you go! It was lovely and exactly what we needed this year.

The National Trust have some beautiful holiday cottages. We stayed in one a couple of christmases ago in the Lake District…miles from anyone, rubbish phone signal, big roasting fire and surrounded by beautiful scenery. It was perfect ♥️ they have them all over the U.K.

So what makes it not stressful if you hire a cottage? you still need to cook , you still need to get /wrap all presents etc , not sure what difference will make ? same s..t different location

@pompei8309 no pressure, no other people to please, no time restrictions on the day. I literally did not worry about Christmas Day at all, no prep, no freezer space or rushing around to get anything. We did one trip to Tesco when we got there and got everything (except crackers, but we pulled invisible crackers) and it was so different to normal. It’s not my immediate family that are the problem, the 5 of us had a glorious day, I love cooking Christmas dinner. I just hate the family dramas and stress and timings and obligation of hosting Christmas

This. What's spoiling it for you at home?

I feel exactly the same. We don’t have enough space really to make it comfortable. I would like to book somewhere with a big kitchen, roaring fires and lots of great walks.
Need four bedrooms and a house which is toddler friendly. Food is an issue though. You would have to bring it all or order it. Also it needs to be near a train station as relatives coming from London.
Recommendations welcome.
