Turkey Basters

My cheap and cheerful one split along its length and had to be duct taped together for Christmas Day.

I’ve adopted a policy in recent years of only replacing truly essential things, and trying to buy lasting quality when I do. (Pauses to imagine future generations squabbling over who will inherit Great-Grand-Nana’s turkey baster and the epoch defining battles for dominance that may ensue)

Would anyone like to nominate a tried and tested, sturdy brand? Or venture an opinion on the merits of glass versus stainless steel?

My principles of sustainability and posterity falter at the prospect of not using a dishwasher, but that’s my only sticking point.

I use a spoon

AlwaysLatte · 27/12/2022 21:19

Not worth it, far too fiddly to clean. A spoon is just fine!

Shoecleaner · 27/12/2022 21:23

Doesn't need basting if you cook it right.

bizzywiththefizzy · 27/12/2022 21:24

I used to have one , but to run-ins with the d/w needed to be binned .I now use a large serving spoon .

I just use a spoon or a pastry brush depending on my mood.
