How to pimp my carrots?

Has anybody got any simple but effective ways I can make my carrots a bit nicer for Christmas Day? I usually just boil them but fancy making more of an effort this year. I'm cooking for 9 but I'm no experienced chef 😄 TIA!

Cook the carrots, then add a knob of butter and two teaspoon of honey. Toss the carrots in the mixture.

Roasted with clementine and thyme, taste great and you can prep them ahead. Peel and half carrots lengthways, chuck in roasting tin with olive oil, S&P, fresh thyme and a clementine or two halved. Can be kept in a freezer bag or bowl or whatever in a cool place if making in advance. Once roasted gently squeeze one of the clementine half into the pan juices and toss the carrots around a bit in it. Lovely.

Google a recipe for Carrot Tzimmes. You need one with a bit of spice, cinnamon and cardamom as well as the honey.

Or Claudia Roden’s boiled carrot salad served warm.

We do honey roasted carrot and parsnip. Steam them so they're soft, put on an oven tray, drizzle in a bit of oil and plenty of honey, give them a shake and stick them in the oven. Delicious.

Roast with honey or marmalade simple but delicious

I bung mine in a tray with a knob of butter and a bit of water, season. Even easier then boiling.

Otherwise boiled and then add butter and a teasoppn of dried Basil.

I didn’t actually think people still boiled carrots, boiling them is the reason most people I know who don’t like carrots don’t like them, it’s certainly the reason I didn’t eat them until well into adulthood.

Anyway, fully depends who you are cooking for. I wouldn’t go too mad. Cut lengthways and chuck in with your roasties is definitely the safest option.

My cousin came to me for Christmas dinner about 10 years ago, he’s always liked my cooking but couldn’t stand the carrots because he was so use to boiled by his mum. I’d only done them with a bit of brown sugar.

Steaming them is far better than boiling them, they are lovely just plain steamed. I am clearly in a minority but I can’t bear them with honey, maple syrup, sugar, orange juice etc. Plain roasted with a bit of salt and pepper or savoury spices or parmesan for me.

Toss the boiled carrots in some melted better and lots of dried tarragon . Easy and mind blowing good .
