Weird stuff you have on your tree because it's tradition to your family tree

We have an ugly rat/mouse man thing on because we always put him on- I don't know where it's from or why we put it on- it's just always on.

We also have ugly Father Christmas which my late grandmother had on her tree. It's really ugly but sentimental to me.

Does anyone else have a weird ornament they always put on their tree?

My parents have 2 teddies on their tree, back in the 70s it was a tradition to hang a small teddy from the front of the coach built style pram hood (they often had a handle but for pulling up / back the hood and so it was easy to hang something from it). they are ratty things.

We have a barbie pink triceratops with a smooshie body that Dad (RIP) had in his cracker one year. It's very ugly and bizarre and nothing makes sense about it.

We had a family friend die at a young age and I smashed up his mug and set it in resin with some gold stars. It looks like a normal Christmas decoration until you look closely. I sent one to his two daughters and they love them too.

We always have the squirrel of Christmas on the little tree in our family room. It's a tradition.

Garfield on top of the 'second' tree.

For many years my Sindy in her wedding dress was the fairy on top of the 'first' tree.

@PatriciaPattersonGimlin
That's a really touching idea.

On the family Christmas tree (late 70s/early 80s), there was an annual discussion about a really bizarre ornament nobody could remember making/ being given.

Yet, each year, back up it went. More and more bedraggled.

Handmade from multicoloured card, with random sparkly fleecy bits and green felt spikes. We decided it must've once been an attempt at a festive sheep eating grass.
Its slow demise was hastened by our new cat and dismembered parts were discovered among the pile of presents.

RIP weird old sheep thing.

A snowman card made by a child my mum taught in primary school in the 70s. Said child must be over 40 by now, but his very sweet ‘Dear Miss X love Thomas’ note comes out every year!

The fairy on the top of our family Christmas tree was on of my little dolls (about the size of a Pippa doll) from when I was about 2/3 my dad made her some see through wings out of plastic and my mum made a little outfit. She's still going now and I'm 52!
