This is something I’ve never done before but circumstances mean we may need to this year.

Does it work out ok and how do you reheat? also, can I roast the potatoes too and then pop them in a hot oven to reheat and crisp up on the day?

thank you

Don't know about the potatoes, but I do the turkey Christmas eve. Once cooked, I keep a jug of all the juices and fat in the fridge. To reheat, I slice whatever turkey we want, layer it in a casserole and spoon over a mix of the jellied juice and a small quantity of the fats, cover then pop on the bottom oven shelf for the last 30 minutes or so of cooking anything else. Works for us.

Thanks @Justlovedogs
I suppose that stops it drying out.

Bung it in the oven at around midnight on gas mark 1/2 and it should be nicely done for lunchtime for a 9lb bird, including stuffing.

I do it in the morning of Christmas Eve, when it's done take it out, cover with foil and a then a clean tea towel/towel on top and leave it to cool slowly. It's never dry. I do check it's done with a meat thermometer though rather than any other method and tend to find it's ready before I would believe it is without using it.

Thanks @PieonaBarm

so how do you reheat it on the day?

Pour mega hot gravy over it. Otherwise I'd wrap it in foil and just pop it in the oven for ten minutes or so just before serving.
