We don’t do presents for adult siblings. Waste of money for everyone.

Rinatinabina · 14/12/2022 13:50

Don’t do presents for adults, bottle of wine and choc/biscuits at most. We are all happy with that.

Theopossumwasmeantforme · 14/12/2022 14:03

I've got them electronics things I know they need. I'll get something similar.

mrstea301 · 14/12/2022 14:23

I did funny socks last year, but think this year I might just make some cakes I know he's partial to.

Allthemojitos · 14/12/2022 15:02

Sil & Bil we don't exchange gifts instead we go out for a meal and drinks together over the festive period. I buy for my Db, he's single, and only gets a gift from us, dm buys him chocolate and puts money in a card which he refuses to take. Adult dd and sil gift him something dgd has made. He puts a lot of thought into gifting and i do want him to have gifts to open on christmas day. There's only 20 months between us and we are very close with similar tastes, like the same bands etc.

This year :

  • kuddly hoodie *2 pairs of Next cosy lined socks *retro england 1970 world cup top and had charltons name put on (we lived near his mum cissy, who also taught dB how to play football at school) *framed minimalist star wars print *stormtrooper beer in tin *chocolate *m&s tin of nuts

Previous hits have been framed art by a local artist in a style I knew he'd love of places with significance (he went on to buy some more pieces in the end), heated throw (he works from home in a victorian house), a man chill out box (jo malone candle, dave grohl book, hotel chocolat beer/chocolate/nuts box)

Seems a lot, just under £100. Did spend less when dd was a child, but no dc at home anymore.

QuietOne121 · 14/12/2022 15:13

Nothing. We stopped when we had kids and just buy for them.

Bogglebrain · 14/12/2022 15:18

I buy for my brother and sister, both single, but don’t spend much.

brother - Sherlock Holmes jigsaw puzzle, Star Wars jumper/socks

sister - elephant burner and wax melts, lap tray.

Chelsea26 · 14/12/2022 15:19

I have two brothers and a sister and we decided a long time ago that the boys should buy for each other and my sister and I would to save money and stress.

It works well and has over the years morphed into my sister and I sitting in bubbly water and getting stroked by strangers on the first official day back at work for everyone else!

turkeyboots · 14/12/2022 15:19

Nothing. We don't do adult presents apart from our own parents.

Spenn · 14/12/2022 15:25

Kuddly hoodies - on offer at 4 for around 100 bargain. (And all sorted)

ElbowsandArses · 14/12/2022 15:26

We’re doing secret Santa as we all have big families too. So one gift max spend £10 open when we are together. I’ve drawn my niece’s partner who is coming for our family Xmas. I’ve never met him but he’s getting a pair of socks and a small box of chocs. We are bringing nice wine and nibbles for the day

Nagado · 14/12/2022 15:26

An Oodie each and a stocking with sweets, socks/slippers and a mug each.
