Tiny things for teddy stockings!

I know, madness! Apparently last year dd decided santa would bring her favourite teddy a stocking and she sewed one for the teddy and indeed Santa did deliver - a worry doll and a chocolate coin and a mini pack of cards. This year her siblings want in on it and they all want their favourite teddy to have a stocking. It is all my own fault! Anyhow they can have a mini chocolate thing of some description, but any other ideas for very small v cheap teddy stocking fillers that are not just tat. The stockings are the size of my hand so needs to be very small - I was thinking maybe a particularly lovely marble for each one but that would involve finding a shop that does this.

Elf on the shelf stuff is little?
Ours has an umbrella and a water game thing that will become another toys once Elfy buggers off.

Mini boxes of smarties. Usually they come in a multi bag, fun size or something.

Ribbons to make bows, could gonon teddy or could be used in girls hair.

These body shop bath bubbles are really small. I’ve used them as cracker fillers in the past.

Keyring
Rubber/pencil sharpener
Fridge magnet
Egg cosy
balloon

Great ideas thank you - and I reckon they (er, owners of the teddies) would all love a chapstick

little wooden spinning top

HouseIsOnFire · 13/12/2022 14:58

Hat or scarf for the teddies? (Assuming the stockings are proportional to teddy size!)

BrieAndChilli · 13/12/2022 15:14

www.rexlondon.com/stocking-fillers-children?ll=tile

There are some lovely little tiny things on the rexlondon site. a bit different from stuff you see in the shops too.

BestIsWest · 13/12/2022 15:17

Ha! My DD did this too. She’s 29 now and the Teddy stocking gets a chocolate coin and a lip balm. Yes, crazy.

WeirdPookah · 13/12/2022 18:40

Lindt do miniature chocolate teddies.

RockyOfTheRovers · 13/12/2022 18:42

Poundland have mini candy canes.

EarthlyNightshade · 13/12/2022 18:48

Of all the weird Christmas traditions that are constantly coming up, this is one I can totally get on board with!
How lovely to do tiny things that are not tat.

Teddy stockings here too Smile

Marbles, 5p coins, bits of ribbon, squares of fabric (hankies), knotted scarves...

Lindt do miniature chocolate teddies.

Can a bear eat a bear? Shock

I suppose no worse than jelly babies

Froppysue · 13/12/2022 18:54

There’s a brand called ‘worlds smallest’ and they do toys like elf on the shelf, rubix cube, retro games etc. Or if you buy the mini brands Disney balls you get very mini versions of Disney toys in boxes, they would be cute!

Squirrelonwheels · 13/12/2022 18:55

National Trust shops have a range of stocking filler type things for reasonable prices including marbles and also fossils/gems if that sort of thing would appeal?

Singleandproud · 13/12/2022 19:01

DD once 'made' us (I didn't need much convincing) throw a birthday party for her favourite soft toy, it was fabulous we all have winter birthdays so we had a Bbq and played party games in the garden and had cake. DD dressed herself and her toys in their best party clothes and we all sang happy birthday to a toy dog. It is one of my favourite memories now she is a teenager, taller than me.

What about Build a Bear (or build a bear knock off) accessories.

Also it really isn't difficult to learn to Crochet, 2 balls of Yarn and you could make matching scarves for children and teddies.

A bracelet

GlomOfNit · 13/12/2022 20:01

that's so sweet! My advice would be, FFS keep it simple and minimal. Otherwise you're going to be trapped in a spiral of miniature replicas of your DDs' actual stockings! 😂 I think last year's stocking sounded perfect. Tiny knitted hats would be cute - do you knit? Do you have a time machine and are able to go back in time in order to do this? Grin

DS1 used to request a very specific item for Teddy which would go in his own stocking (DS's not Teddy's). Mostly things like a new jumper or Christmas jumper (I found a lovely source of hand-knitted jumpers on ebay and must have had about four off her!), but once Teddy wanted a snowboard. I had to make that one. Also a lightsaber, but Build a Bear accessories are available 2nd hand on ebay...

He's 14 now so hasn't asked in years. I do sort of miss it.

Claires Accessorises do tiny erasers. Or a little keyring each? A tiny knitted scarf for teddy?

idontevenknowanyonecalledblurb · 13/12/2022 20:05

Waterstones do a bag of planet marbles that are really nice. My son thinks they are really special

Floydthebarber · 13/12/2022 20:06

Washi tape. I don't know how old your dc are but dd1 who is 8 is mad for the stuff and decorates lots of pictures with it. It is also paper, not plastic which is always a bonus.

SlatternIsMyMiddleName · 13/12/2022 21:35

Love this. I’m in my late 40’s and everyone in my family knows the date of my teddy’s birthday. He celebrated his 42nd birthday this year. He gets a card.

Until my DCs came along he also received a present from Santa Paws every Christmas, usually a knitted scarf. If you can knit it’s super quick. Approx. 10 stitches across, plain stitch and as many rows as you need to get the appropriate length.

You could try a quality street sweet, or similar, in Teddy’s favourite colour. Or one of those cocktail umbrellas. Or a wee photo of the relevant DC.

BusterGroove · 13/12/2022 22:03

A finger puppet
bouncy ball
mini bubbles - I think ASDA do multi packs for party bags
really tiny notepad and mini pencil
£1
a grape or cherry instead of a satsuma?
