My 11yo DD has asked for Ugg boots for Christmas … she knows they’re too expensive really and I don’t see the point in spending that much on feet that are still growing but I thought I could get her a cheap version which I think she will be just as pleased with.

thought I’d sorted it when I bought some in Sainsburys earlier today but she’s just told me she likes the brown ones and I’ve bought black 🙄

Does anyone know where I could buy brown Ugg style boots? Have been searching online but not found any yet. She’s a 5/6 so I guess women’s rather than kids.

thanks!

I bought these for a friend and they were really pleased with them as a budget friendly Ugg alternative:

Try to get some mid-price ones if you can - the really cheap ones dont hold the shape of a shoe at the bottom and sag really badly. I know they are expensive but UGGs really do last well, i think TK maxx sometimes have cheaper versions that are still good quality

StickyCricket · 10/12/2022 15:22

I’ve had several ugg style copies and paid up to £70 (Bearpaw) and they are either not as comfortable or not as warm or don’t hold the shape or collapse at the heel or don’t last a year before looking ready for the bin.

There’s loads of Ugg style boots on Etsy like these. But if you’re buying copies, and your daughter loves them and wears them as much as I wear my Uggs in winter, then be prepared and not too disappointed to have to chuck them away by Easter/summer.

ranoutofquinoaandprosecco · 10/12/2022 15:24

Try brandalley or mandmdirect for genuine uggs but discounted as they'll be last seasons you may get lucky!

buzzing · 10/12/2022 20:05

Thank you for the advice. Appreciate what you’re saying about proper Ugg boots being worth the money but it’s not something I can justify while her feet are still growing and, to be honest, until she’s shown that she can look after her belongings a bit more!

Will have a look at the links above.

Definitely look at Brand Alley they've Uggs in the sale today but I'd be quick as their sales change daily.

DarkDarkNight · 10/12/2022 21:31

What kind of budget? My son has boots from Emu that he loves, they’re cheaper than Uggs (I get them with a Black Friday code as well) but more expensive than high street. You could try places like Celtic and Co or Just Sheepskin.

I know you have a budget but be wary of going too cheap, or at least look for some that are reinforced around the heel so don’t just collapse.

Intothevoid3 · 10/12/2022 21:39

Costco shearling boots, you can buy online. Uggs are slightly better, they are not £100 better though!

AriettyHomily · 10/12/2022 21:43

She's old enough to know the brand, if she'll be disappointed I'd get something else altogether.

I was just going to say this. The lookalike ones lose their shape really quickly and there's zero arch support. You're better off just buying uggs. They offer Klarna so you can pay for them with 3 payments over 3 months with no fees or interest

They have these in a size 5 on m&m direct. £64

Blueskythinking123 · 10/12/2022 22:03

I got my Dd some from TK Maxx. They were great and not too expensive

Roserunner · 10/12/2022 22:10

I got my DD a pair from Costco one year and she loved them, they were only about £20 and still looked like new when she'd grown out of them.
I got her a bargain pair of Timberland boots this year but they aren't UGG style so prob not what you're looking for.

These but the kids version so were cheaper. They looked really nice on.

Keekabooyou · 10/12/2022 22:34

River island ones are good if they still do them

CombatBarbie · 10/12/2022 23:08

Where do you live, the Ugg outlet in Portsmouth is ace, I got my DDs for £50.

ithappened · 11/12/2022 06:43

Definitely Costco.
I have had their own brand version for years and they are hard to tell apart from my branded Uggs and have really good support around the heel unlike those from places like Primark.

Nutrigrainygoodness · 11/12/2022 06:50

I bought myself a pair of these last year. They have a proper sole and are waterproof.

schuh website has an ‘ex display’ section that may be worth a look. I got my uggs from there (still pretty pricey though!)

wizbit93 · 11/12/2022 07:31

I can't link but we've just got some from Next for Dd and she's really happy with them. Code 120-218.

TheEvening · 11/12/2022 08:00

I have AusWooli sheepskin boots and they are brilliant. Warm, comfortable, solid sole and waterproof. Similar standard to Bearpaw. About £60.

I've had a couple of really cheap Amazon ones about £20 and they were fine to be honest but eventually came apart.

Don't understand the hype around Uggs!

As pp recommend these from Next

Another vote for costco. We have kids ones that are used as slippers. I've had several uggs over the years but I won't pay their prices since they've changed the lining. Costco are a good alternative they just don't have the branding. We have also had river island ones but they aren't comparable as they are a completely different product, the filling is synthetic for a start but if it was between primark and river island then I would say go for river island, avoid primark etc

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 11/12/2022 10:54

Celtic Sheepskin. Maybe no cheaper but at least made in the U.K., in Cornwall.
I’ve bought from them several times - service is excellent. Washable in the machine. They do repairs, too - some of mine have lasted for ages.
