My adult niece has just bought her first home and has asked for nice cutlery for Christmas. Little did I know that decent cutlery is really expensive!

Can anyone recommend a decent but reasonable cutlery set?

A lot of the sets I've seen only have 4 place settings, which means she'd have to buy another matching set to have enough, which i don't want to burden her with. So I'm hoping to find minimum 8 place settings.

Thank you so much for the code. I have used the other one that was sent just before yours but am happy to pass yours on to anyone else who needs it if you are okay with that?

Yes of course, I won't use it so very happy for you to pass it on.

Does anyone know where I can get chocolates or biscuits please for around £3. I was going to get the celebrations from Asda which were 2 for £7 but they’re not doing the offer anymore.
i also bought the hair milk baaa 🐑

Martinisarebetterdirty · 11/12/2022 09:04

@PlainJaneSuperBrain99 how much do you want to spend? I got a lovely set from M and S 20 years ago that I still use also Sophie conran has a 70% off sale on some at the moment (you can generally also get in TK Maxx or on Brand Alley and it’s lovely).

Hurrah!
We were getting worried.

It might be cheaper to buy 2 sets of 16. Viners, Matalan, Dunelm, Wayfair, TK Maxx are all worth a look.

buckeejit · 11/12/2022 09:22

@mybrainisbusybeingawesome I'd go for 4 of the JM dupe candles from Lidl & some of their Milton brown dupe handwash. I love the rhubarb & rose but the orange is nice too

@PlainJaneSuperBrain99 go to tk maxx for cutlery

Max £50, which I'm realising will be a challenge.

Thanks for the sophie conran tip, I'll have a look. I have SC crockery and it's brilliant quality.

If you have tesco points you could try buying through denby for the cutlery. It would cost a third of the price!

Has anyone had any luck getting hot diamond codes to stack? I've just had a genuine birthday code through, but it won't seem to stack with BF30, so in essence the birthday code is no better than what's already available!

LizMay29 · 11/12/2022 10:43

Have there been any offers for Paddy and Scotts? Just found out my brother in law wants some nice coffee and remembered I got some P&S last year after reading about it on here.

Puffalicious · 11/12/2022 10:43

It's a bit left-field but I bought a set of cutlery in Aldi recently for my work's staff base (constantly losing bits of it) and it's fabulous. I specifically got the gold set - so it was recognisably work cutlery and folk don't get mixed up and pop it in their bag- but there's silver too. I saw it appear again this week - £18 a set and you could buy two. It really is brilliant.

PlainJaneSuperBrain99 · 11/12/2022 10:52

Thanks for all the cutlery suggestions, you guys are amazing at coming up with places I've not thought of.

I've actually found a good deal on wayfair, 32 piece viners set for approx £28!

Thanks for all the help

ColeslawSandwich · 11/12/2022 10:52

@Yalz thanks for the trespass code. Those dry bags are a perfect stocking filler for my sea swimming DH.

I went to M&S yesterday to claim my free sparks tea light up thing. Did the 3 for 2 with the shortbread so only paid £6 and got 2 shortbread and a tea.
Just ordered some wellies from just hype, never heard of them before so not sure if any good. Anyway wellies were 9.99 in sale, they have a code to get 50% off but you have to spend over £10. I added a 99p bottle clip. Ended up all in with delivery £8 something.

Morrisons are doing the bags of chocs for 2.25 with my morrisons card. Tesco are doing biscuits for £3 with clubcard.

Have you tried 'DAD20' that should give you 20% off at paddy & scott?
