Christmas eve meal (some dietary restrictions)

We will be hosting on Chriatmas eve, in the group we have one person with a severe nut allergy (peanuts, tree nuts, sesame) and another with dairy allergy.

I'd like something rich, warming, easy to make, delicious, and that would suit their tastes.

We eat almost everything else (not a massive fan of lamb or pork, but I'll eat it).

I'm keen to hear any starter/canapé ideas, main course, and dreaded pudding (which all seem to have dairy in).

Thanks all, I have a menu!!

I've ordered a smoked side of salmon (which should leave leftovers for Christmas breakfast), and some large shell on prawns. I'll make a green bean salad (which involves poached eggs), a potato salad (with capers and cornichons) and a roasted carrot salad.

Then we'll have cold poached pears, with hot dark chocolate (dairy free) sauce.

It's not the 'warming' meal I'd initially planned, but it'll be nice and fresh ahead of the Grand Roast of Christmas Day.

The salmon needs no real prep, the pears I can make the day before. So all we'll need to do is throw some salads together, marinade and grill some prawns, and heat up the chocolate sauce.

@Todaynotalways sounds delicious! And yes not too heavy given the next days feasting! Enjoy!

Goulash (leave it on simmering low), crusty bread (non dairy butter), salad, potatoes (if none in the goulash)
