What is the typical Christmas morning like in your house? If you have children are they up super early? Do you open presents first thing or get food first?

For us DS7 and DS5 will grab their stockings from the hallway landing and bring them in to open in our bed as we wake up. We have DD1 who just turned 1 this year too. In recent years they have slept til around 7.30 but they are both at very excited stages this year so who knows.

We then head down stairs after making sure the fairy lights are all on for a nice festive glow and the boys open their gifts from Santa and family, in between several
Cups of tea and bin bags to
Collect the rubbish!

Grandparents tend to turn up around 8-9am and have breakfast (for some reason we have a tradition of French toast) whilst the kids play with their toys

Kids are teenagers now so calm morning here, but even in the height of them believing it wasn't an early start.

Our tradition is to watch a film in bed and go downstairs about 9, open presents then breakfast.

Watch a film in bed before going down for presents? 😮

Yes. Have done that since the kids were little. Our youngest still comes in to our room for a film before we go downstairs

I think that's lovely.

It's seen as an English UC thing I believe - the later you open your tree presents the posher you are.

⬆️😂

Ours are teens now, so hopefully won't sleep till lunchtime! I'll actually have to wake them.
Stockings are brought into our room & opened with us. Then I nip down & let dog out, feed pets, put lights on & make cuppas.
Then tree presents are opened one at a time. We spend some time looking at everything, then I get dressed.

This year is first without dad, & mam is in a home. Parents used to live 2 mins away so they'd come to us around 1pm.

I always take my older daughter to the Crematorium, so I'll pick her up, then mam & we will visit my dad & my grandson. (While hubby cracks on with dinner, as much as poss prepped the day before). Then drop daughter at hers, & possibly pop in to see kids.

Teenagers will be putting their pressies upstairs & getting dressed. Often we have about 12 for lunch, but I'm not too well this year, so just mam & my adult son joining us.

Dinner is 1.30-2ish. Followed by Christmas film & a dog walk.

In the evening older daughters & their kids pop over, & we play games.

Then I'll take mam back to her home. She loves it there but I'm still gona feel sad not just walking her & dad round the corner.
