I need to buy something for my dad. We're not close and he's quite well off so buys himself anything he needs/wants.
He's mid 60s, diabetic, doesn't drink and a very plain eater.
Previous gifts I've given over the past few years include candles (I've already given him a Yankee advent calendar this year), a fancy dressing gown, slippers, denby mugs (with Tesco clubcard points) and I recently gave him a heated throw for his birthday.
I'm looking to spend up to £50 but just can't think of anything this year.
Any ideas? Thanks

Anything consumable… posh food, bubble bath, aftershave etc.

Subscription to a magazine? Private Eye or The Week?

Nice scarf or gloves. Really good quality socks. Premium olive oil if he cooks?

Does he have any hobbies like jigsaws, gardening or crosswords? Is there a sports team he follows? If he watches a lot of tv, a subscription to a channel he might like.

Any hobbies that you could link a present to, such as books or a magazine subscription or an item related to a hobby?

Cinema tickets
Experience voucher such as falconry, afternoon tea (it’s not just for women!).

We have a cupboard full of unused gifts to DH. The framed print wouldn’t fit in of course. He is interested in ornithology but we have several bird boxes that have never been put up. He now receives a box of assorted non-alcoholic beers from DS, Marmite products from DD and a box of cheeses from me. He insists he doesn’t want or need anything and if he had his way there would be no presents in the house for anyone. the only gifts he has liked over the years were a DashCam and a Bat detector.

Does he read? Perhaps political biographies (dependent on his leanings), or a music biog?

Does he do any sport, eg golf? Could buy him a golf lesson from his local club? Or some sports kit if he does something else?

PJs? Or a nice jumper/shirt?
