As part of my festivities, I want to watch 10 Christmas movies in Dec. A mixture of adult and children's favourites. What would you add to the list?

I usually watch It’s a Wonderful Life and Love Actually. DH and I watch Die Hard together (deffo a Christmas film!). Kids like Arthur Christmas and more recently A Boy Called Christmas. The Snowman too.

I like to watch Hogfather in December.
Also Home Alone

I like old, romantic Christmas movies.

these are from the 1940s and are outstanding:

Remember the Night
Holiday Affair
The Bishop's Wife
Christmas in Connecticut
The Shop Around the Corner
I'll Be Seeing You
Bundle of Joy

Another Barbara Stanwyck film that isn't a Christmas movie but has an important climax at Christmas is called My Reputation.

From the early 60s (I think) is The Apartment with Jack Lemmon and Shirley MacLaine; not a Christmas movie per se but is set in the season and has a lot of Christmas going on. One of my all-time favorite films.

The Clive Donner version of A Christmas Carol starring George C. Scott is my favorite.

There's a 1990s-ish version called Ebbie starring Susan Lucas (?) that I find amusing and sweet.

Arthur Christmas is our traditional Christmas Eve film. DS is 17 and just asked if we're still going to watch it this year.

Flooper · 27/11/2022 20:01

We always watch Rise of the Guardians in the run up to Christmas, it isn't a Christmas film but it definitely is at the same time!

HippyChickMama · 27/11/2022 20:24

Also, if you don't mind some horror, Krampus and Black Christmas (the original with Margot Kidder
