Nursery key worker presents

Hi everyone,

I did run a search first but couldn't find anything recent for this question.

DD is three, she has a key worker and there are four practitioners in her room in total. (I'd say closer to twenty or more staff in the nursery across all the rooms, and we know quite a few as she's been there almost two years now).

What do I do present wise? Last year I did a box of chocolates for her key worker and her room leader, and a tub for the staff room, but I don't know if that's best?

I've seen some people do Costa gift cards, or chocolates or toiletries - her key worker is young and the other ladies are all much older in her room but I don't have much else to go on. I'm not sure if any are drinkers so alcohol might not be appropriate but they may prefer it?

Are there any nursery workers here who have any suggestions or anyone else facing this dilemma?

I don't know the other parents well enough to organise a collection or anything.

I’ve made a hamper full of festive goodies for them all to share, things like nice biscuits, shortbread, chocolate, nuts, pigs in blankets flavoured crisps. Cost about £30 in total but it looks great!

Oh that's a good idea too, I didn't think of doing something like that

At my son's nursery all the gifts to share are piled up in the back room and on the last day they are shared out between everyone so everyone goes home with a pile of gifts. They get so many sweet tubs, tins of biscuits etc they'd get sick of them if they just opened them for the staff room.

At my son's nursery not everyone has a little group of kids to buy them a gift, there are some apprentices, bank staff, part time staff etc.

I have no idea what to get this year, I don't have a lot of money, I've already spent my Christmas budget. The problem with a Costa card is that it really needs to have at least £10.00 on it. A cappuccino in my local one is £3.00 something so you'd wouldn't get a coffee and a cake with £5.00 now.

That was my thinking about the Costa card! I don't know if they do this at DD nursery, (gift pooling) so I always try to send some bits in for the staff that don't have kids. I hope they do pool stuff though so if someone who doesn't drink gets wine for example they can swap it out 😂
I might just do some boxes of chocolates because I am useless at this bit 😞

Something just for her, rather than chocolate. I had a tiny tie-on bracelet from one of my little ones. It was very inexpensive but had a lovely message and it's nice to show the child you're wearing it.
I'd appreciate nice warm socks or gloves especially if it's a nursery that spends a lot of time outside. Or hand warmers, or a nice thermos cup.
