Cards against humanity?

Kids are 24 and 16. Do we think suitable for the 16 year old or just too beyond the pale?

I've not played myself before but I'm familiar with it

No idea why I included my 24 year old in that!

You need quite a dark sense of humour in my experience. It may be a little too 'out there' for the 16yo.
They do a Disney version and a teen version I believe Smile

ThatGirlInACountrySong · 26/11/2022 20:24

No not for a 16 year old!

Tisfortired · 26/11/2022 20:25

DS is 9 and we bought the cards against humanity family edition last year. He found it hilarious but so did all the adults playing! The family edition is just as funny just less dark in my opinion.

Rocksludge · 26/11/2022 20:25

There’s a family edition. It’s mostly very silly.

Beanbagtrap · 26/11/2022 20:26

It's probably fine for a 16 year old with their friends but might be cringeworthy in front of mum and dad. There's quite a lot of sexual content in it which could be horrendously embarrassing for all parties.

JustLurkingAway · 26/11/2022 20:26

Thinks it's fine for 16yos tbh, but agree with above there's load they'll probably find embarrassing to read in front of familyGrin

ChocChipOwl · 26/11/2022 20:27

I looked at the family edition and decided it was a bit too young for him

He's not some totally out there adult type 16 year old but he has a good sense of humour and he gets a dark joke - just wondered if it might turn him into some sort of sociopath

I'll think on it some more

The adult one my 16yo ds played. Dd 17 wouldn't like it though. Was quite uncomfortable for me tbh playing it with dc... Adult dc!! A bit cringe.

ChocChipOwl · 26/11/2022 20:28

I'm joking re the sociopath comment btw!

Hadn't considered the sexual thing in front of mum and dad but I think he'd be fine and we'd just laugh about how offensive it was

Love the game - some of it the 16 year old might not "get" but I would still play it with them!

ChocChipOwl · 26/11/2022 20:28

Yes maybe it would be too cringe!

You can look at the cards and judge the level of mutual embarrassment on the website. There are pdfs.

That’s the UK version.

CaroleFuckingBaskin · 26/11/2022 20:37

16 year old would have a great time playing it with mates. Adults would have a great time playing with other adults.

I wouldn't mix the 2 groups

MsSquiz · 26/11/2022 20:45

We have cards against humanity and the Disney version. If anything, the Disney version is more adult than the standard game! Not sure if he brave enough to play it with my parents even now in my 30s!

Gingersay · 27/11/2022 00:29

We have the family addition are the adults love it as much as the kids. We've taken it on holiday with groups and the adults continued playing it once the kids went to bed.

Twilight7777 · 27/11/2022 00:48

Played it with a 14 year old and it was fine so I would have thought 16 would know more than the adults lol!

Ohuhu · 27/11/2022 10:43

I think there are better games out there that can be funny without being too childish or too cringey when played with family.

Trial by Trolley is the first one that comes to mind
