Alternative One Dish Prepare Ahead Christmas Lunch For 10 Idea

Does anyone have any good ideas please, I'm trying to come up with a one dish alternative Christmas dinner that can be prepared ahead on Xmas Eve or even beforehand and frozen, ready to just pop in the oven Christmas Day. To serve 10 (8 adults and 2 kids). I'm thinking something like leg of lamb and dauphinoise potatoes, but this then still involves doing veggies etc to go with it at the last minute. Something like a lasagne or curry would fit the bill better, but are they really celebratory enough? Just don't want to spend the whole day cooking and miss enjoying the day with the children. Originally planned to eat traditional roast in the late afternoon/evening to keep more of the day free, but now relatives are going on elsewhere in the evening so we need to eat at lunchtime or mid afternoon. Want to cook a lovely meal for everyone but not be trapped in the kitchen all day and miss the morning with the children. I know so many people face this issue, but what is the solution? We usually have turkey but aren't totally wed to the idea of a roast, happy to have something else but it must be tasty, festive and special. Help please!

Jamie’s luxury fish pie or if you don’t want to use a lobster, this version
Venison sausage casserole with a red wine sauce or this version if you can’t find sausages.

Beef Wellington with red cabbage and peas

Lamb and dauphinoise sounds ideal. Doing veggies could be something like tenderstenm broccoli and chantenay carrots which you just boil for 5-10 minutes near the end so not much effort.

On Christmas Eve we have brussel sprout macaroni cheese and you can make it as indulgent as you like, use cream not all milk, butter, mozzarella chunks hidden in it, extra deep topping with nice breadcubes.

I’d do the lamb and dauphinoise. On Boxing Day I’m doing beef and dauphinoise. Will make the potatoes early and freeze so that they and the beef can just be bunged in the oven then will do a mixture of green beans, asparagus and tender stem broccoli-they don’t require any prep and can just be put in the steamer without any peeling or chopping required.

I make a special lasagne for Christmas eve most years. It's like a normal one but you make the tomato sauce separately. The meat is hazelnut size meatballs which are put between the layers of lasagne together with mozzarella balls the same size. Pour the tomato sauce over the meatballs and cheese. Top with a final layer of grated mozzarella. No need for bechamel.

Note children are very good at making tiny meatballs.

Beef goulash with red peppers, onions, carrots, smoky paprika, sour cream. Serve with crusty bread or rice.

Or venison and lardon casserole with chestnuts, red wine, mushrooms, juniper and rosemary. Serve with baby potatoes tossed in garlic oil and roasted in their skins. You can prep red cabbage with red onions, apples and walnuts in advance to go with it and just reheat them when you put the potatoes in (which need about 1 minute of prepping!)
