Are these twitch-worthy items?

So every year I read about mumsnetters getting the itch/the twitch where they’ve bought all their presents and then they see something else, get twitchy about it, and keep adding to the pile even though they’ve got more than enough.
Im twitching on some small scale stuff. It won’t break the bank but I really wanted to scale back this year and have failed.

Character towels. Specifically, peach and Mario for dd and ds. I originally had them on my list, but I never came across any decent characters. Until now…

Some small craft kits like bead making, iron beads, make your own tattoos. DD usually likes these things and they fill an hour on a rainy day but I avoided because I just end up with a load of junk at the end. We have around 20 of those paint your own animal things which let’s face it, nobody wants.

A kids digital watch. DD has asked several times for one but I’ve avoided because she’s only 5 and I imagine she will wear it a couple of times, get irritated by it, and shove it in a drawer. But then she mentioned it again today…

Would you twitch?

I've finished shopping for my kids. Please provide a link to these mario towels 😁

I'm very happy with what I've bought, but I keep seeing things my little boy would love, and it's been such an awful year for us all (better now though). I'm failing to reign it in. At least baby girl would be happy with a bag of crisps, I've been very good with her shopping...

I mean I think we all twitch to a degree. Let’s face it the towels are an essential so go for it. Craft kids I wouldn’t bother with because I think you can pick small variations of things like these up throughout the year if able to
do so or use the ones you have of course 😁
if she’s mentioned a watch then you could get a cheaper version as she’s young and if she enjoys it/uses it think of a better version on a few years?
not sure I’ve helped but ……

I would twitch on the towels as you had them on your list and presumably you know they’ll be liked (and obviously they’ll be used).

The craft kits I’m not sure… On one hand it’s always good to have some quieter, rainy day entertainment. On the other, a lot of those kits are a bit crappy and the end result finds its way to the bin pretty quickly. If your dc particularly enjoy crafts I’d probably put together a load of supplies rather than a buy a specific make/paint/grow/sew your own whatever.

I’d probably put a cheap and cheerful character watch in the stocking as sometimes the “want” that we think is a bit useless can be the big hit off the day for that child Smile.

It’s a cheapo fiver character watch that I have in my basket right now.
Think I’m going to sit on it until tomorrow.
Thing is, DD already has more than her lil bro in terms of number of gifts, so if I add the watch and the craft sets I will need to bulk out ds with some dinosaur figures.

I personally think children should learn to tell the time in analogue first. A watch is an okay present for a five year old but how often will it need to come off? Bath? PE? Sports clubs? Art & craft? The more often it has to be removed the greater the chance of it getting lost. If you do get one now is time to get a cheap one.
