Token gift for 15 yo girl?

NoFlowersForEmily · 20/11/2022 19:42

I need to buy something for a 15yo I don't know well, I have boys so clueless on what girls this age are in to.
Budget is £10-15.
Any ideas appreciated.

The only thing I've thought of is a make up palette which my younger sister would have loved at that age but would need to check she's even allowed to wear make up first so might be a no.

The safe bet would be a voucher so she can choose. Mine would have liked something liie Costa.
If you want to buy an actual gift then something like chocolate would be the safest bet.

Voucher definitely. Or something from Oliver Bonas or similar

Littlemissprosecco · 20/11/2022 19:49

Earrings
any bath bath bombs/ smellies

Dogsgottabone · 20/11/2022 19:51

Definitely Oliver bonas. A ceramic jewellery holder would go down well with my DD15. So like a little China saucer in different shapes to go on the bedside table for earrings etc.

Or a card holder.

Anything really. Oliver bonas is heaven for 15yr old girls.

(and middle aged mums too!)

Dogsgottabone · 20/11/2022 19:52

My DD hates bath bombs. Cheap and nasty smell.

Dogsgottabone · 20/11/2022 19:53

I've just bought some little skin care sets from sephora in Xmas gift boxes for £10 for my neice.

BonnesVacances · 20/11/2022 19:56

A bubble tea kit? There's one here on Amazon for £10.99.

My dd is 16 some of the things she’s requested in that budget are:
Victoria secret body spray (there £7 on Black Friday promotion)
Joma Bracelet.

BiggerBoat1 · 20/11/2022 20:00

I have a DD that age. For mine a voucher for Costa or Starbucks, Waterstones, Paperchase or Primark would go down well. Definitely not anything like make up or pamper type stuff.
Bubble tea is an absolute obsession of my DD and all her friends.

Nice stationary is always a hit or a proper box of chocolates (grown up type - not kiddy chocs 😁)

WorriedMillie · 20/11/2022 20:13

At that age, I’d go with a voucher

Leeds2 · 20/11/2022 20:19

Lush gift box.
Mug with hot chocolate sachets, marshmallows and a £5 Costa gift card.

reluctantbrit · 20/11/2022 20:25

DD hates Bubble Tea but loves a Costa hot chocolate.
She is quite fussy about body spray/pamper things.
A Waterstone voucher would be ideal.

You see, lots of different tastes. If you want to be on the safe side, take a voucher.

Biscuitsneeded · 20/11/2022 20:29

Holister?

silverbubbles · 20/11/2022 20:35

amazon voucher

AlwaysFullOfQuestions22 · 20/11/2022 20:52

Voucher! You can get them 'one for all ones' that cover lots of shops
Make up is good but my dsis at 15 only wore Mac and another pricier one ( i cant remember the name) she'd never have worn a super drug pallette.

NoFlowersForEmily · 20/11/2022 21:01

Thanks for all the suggestions lots to think about.
I want to get it right without seeming too try hard, difficult to do when you don't know someone.
Nice chocs might be the best best, would rather not give a voucher.
It's a tricky one, she's my partners step daughter from previous relationship, I've only met her briefly but will be buying her brother, my partners son a couple of things so wanted to send a token to be fair to her and in the hope I will get to know her more in future.

It's a nice idea to get a gift rather than a voucher, just included the gift receipt then she can exchange it if it's not quite right.

My daughter would love most of the suggestions here except for make-up 🙂 (Actually she'd probably secretly like trying that out even!)

handbagsandholidays · 20/11/2022 21:07

Soap and glory gift set? Boots have some great deals

alseb · 20/11/2022 21:11

I’m getting that bubble tea set for a 13 yr old girl. Even with postage it’s cheaper than elsewhere.

declutteringmymind · 20/11/2022 21:11

Stationery? A pack of sharpies or some nice notebooks.

NoFlowersForEmily · 20/11/2022 21:21

The bubble tea sets do look good, something different and not too personal/can be used up or given away if not liked.
Wouldnt buy jewellery even cheap earrings or keepsake type things for this reason plus they share a room so it's hard for her to keep her stuff nice.
Thanks all for all the lovely suggestions.

Hotel chocolat slab?

jocktamsonsbairn · 20/11/2022 21:28

You could dig. Up for the Sephora beauty box subscription (which you then cancel) and get her 5 lovely make up/toiletry things for £2-3. Then you could get her something from a high street shop like new look - usually good for that age. I bought dd a lovely grey and pink scarf the other day (she had been looking at it the other week). They do bags, purses, tops etc that would be in your budget. Or pjs from Primark. Get a gift receipt and she can exchange.

Korean or Japanese snack box from Amazon.
Foreign kit kats.
Box of assorted noodles.
