Christmas table present

Hi everyone,

We often spend Christmas at home with extended family members but this year have decided to go out for lunch on Christmas Day just as our small family.

This is a big change to what my children are used to (we don’t have a sit down meal on Xmas day usually, we have it Xmas Eve as it was much easier and worked for us when they were younger)

I would like them to have a small gift to open at the table of the restaurant that they can use between courses.

I have bought my daughter a mini fluffy notebook and pen as she enjoys writing but I am really stuck for ideas for my boys who are 11, 9 & almost 4.

Gift ideas must be
• Under £10 each
• Small in size
• Something quiet as we don’t want to disturb others
• Not messy

Looking forward to reading everyone’s suggestions! Thank you

LCD writing tablet for the 4 year old? Or a Plan Toys mini tin.

My DS (9) is desperate for a lockable diary where the lock won't break within 5 mins. He's not a writer or diarist, think he just likes the idea of writing secret messages no one else can see unless he lets them. Could fit into your category.

Could also get something like Dobble?

A jigsaw for the 4 year old. I don't think that would be too big!
Top trumps.
Magic tricks.
Little cars for the 4 year old. Or a few small dinosaurs or zoo animals.
Small lego sets.

Invisible ink pen and pad for the 4yo - my 5yo was obsessed with "secret messages" last year!
Older boys - rubik's cube, puzzle book, Guinness world record book or joke/trivia book, fidget toys (pop its and spinners are very popular at the school where I teach), card game they could maybe play at the table (top trumps, Uno), a mini Lego kit they could build at the table if they like Lego...?

A set of those crackers that have wind up racing robins/snowmen/reindeer etc in them, to race at the table?

I ordered a robotic Hexbug Spider for approx £10 from The Entertainer…there are other creatures too

Magnetic or colour changing putty?

The LCD tablets went down well with my kids ranging from 2-13 tbh- cheap and easy to use. Can play hangman or knots and crosses etc
or a Rubik’s cube for the older lad…and fidget toys for the younger one.
