Teen girls that are not girly?

DD’s are 16 and 18, 18 year old isn’t girly at all, doesn’t do make up, hair etc.., like quirky clothes but not into perfume or smellies. 16 year old has ASD (quite severe), loves Lego but she has most of the bigger sets, her main gift is a Lego set. I need ideas for smaller gifts but I don’t just want to buy for the sake of it, dd1 is at uni so doesn’t have much space, I have bought her a item of clothing and a game for her switch. Need ideas for stocking gifts and a few fun things to open?

Nice blanket for the one at uni or cushion for her bed? Lava lamp or similar interesting sort of lamp for either. Vouchers for food/cinema/books/something else. If they still like stuffed toys some of those. You're never too old for a Squishmallow!

Would a craft kit of some sort be of any interest?

I bought her a blanket and lamp when she started uni, vouchers are a great idea for her stocking, I have bought her a few bits of food to go in there too. She does like going to Greg’s so I Greg’s voucher would be great and maybe Waterstones as she goes there a lot. She has far too many soft toys 🤣

There's a fun book called Lego Life Hacks, with lots of ideas for building e.g. key holders, cable organisers, phone holders. Might be a bit basic for her, though?

Tickets to an event ?

My ASD daughter and I love anything that feels good to wear or touch, like supersoft bed socks, velvety scarfs, fluffy hot water bottle covers.

Nice socks including warm slouchy ones, maybe gloves, hat. Mug.

Novelty airpod case - my dd has this one and my DS has one like a Heinz beans tin
Chop sticks
Bullet journal
Card game like Monopoly Deal, Bears vs Babies or uno flip
United Oddsocks box
Hot chocolate powder (I highly recommend the cookies and cream flavour from Whittard!)
Tavel mug
LED beanie hat
Bento box
Scented candle - my DD is getting a salted caramel latte one!

Ok so my DD is like your 16 year old, also autistic. She's having the Daily Bugle Lego set as her main present. She's into sport and is having cricket pads as another gift. She likes the marvel franchise so it's easy to supplement with bits such as t-shirts and water bottles.

In addition I've bought her some Christmas novelty soft socks, and an apple speaker.

I also buy some of the small boxed gifts like a trivia game / escape room in a box.

There is a MenKind shop at our local shopping centre that sells the kinds of small novelty gifts she likes, despite the name of the shop they actually have an online store for women's gifts! Here's a link

Thank you, I have got dd2 the ‘House of games’ card game as she loves watching it and is good at answering the questions. She’s now asked for some fine line art pens as she does a lot of drawing. Her main gift is the Lego technics F1 car which cost a bit 😬. Dd2 loves menkind , it’s her favourite shop.

I could get dd1 some pop figures but I need to find out which ones she has as she buys them and keeps them in her room at uni.

Our daughters do sound similar! Lego is such a win though!

Lovemusic33 · 19/11/2022 17:41

She has had Lego every year for the past ten years (probably longer) 🤣, she loves the big sets but they are so expensive so this year she had to chose just one, although if I see a good offer I will get her another. We are running out of space to display all the Lego.

My ASD DD loves nanoblock sets as they take up less space than lego! There are lots of options for animals / architecture etc.. small and cheap but lots of fun! My
