Sugar free chocolate advent calendar

It seems every year I have more and more of a struggle finding a sugar free advent calendar. Holland and Barrett's has been missing for a few years. The Skinny Food Co did a great one last year, but there's no sign of it.

The only actually sugar free ones I've found are stupid prices (£20+) or are just 'no added sugar'.

Can anyone point me in the direction of a decent sugar free chocolate calendar? It won't quite be Christmas without one!

What do you class as sugar free if 'no added sugar' is unsuitable for you?
Is that not the same thing?
I had a vegan one for my son last year as he's allergic to everything and that was something like cocoa, gluten free oats & a sweetener. It was advertised as 'no added sugar' but to me that just means sugar free.

Thanks, @Patty101 - I steer clear of 'no added sugar' because sometimes 'no added sugar' means it still has plenty of sugar in it. In this case, the only one I've found is the Plamil 'So Free' one - I actually went back and had a look at the nutritional info and actually it is pretty low sugar after all, low enough that'd consider getting it. However, I had a Plamil one a few years ago and it was honestly rank, and the Amazon reviews on the one I've found say this one is too.

However, if anyone's seen a 'no added sugar' one that's not Plamil, I'd really appreciate having a look Smile

Sorry but why would you want no added sugar in chocolate? Sounds horrible. Plenty of non sugary advent calendars these days - I have a gin oneGrin

I think you've answered your own question. They are all rank. How about one of the popcorn ones instead?

I assume they're diabetic?

Why not just have a picture one and buy a box of decent chocolates that are suitable to have one every day when you open the door? Or a 3d card one, the Roger La Borde ones are gorgeous!

It's fine if it's not something you'd personally eat, but there's lots of amazing sugar-free chocolate out there! The white chocolate advent I had from the Skinny Food Co last year was delicious.

Unfortunately, I just can't find one this year in the traditional advent format which scratches my nostalgia itch - I rarely eat chocolate at any other time of year, but it's got to be chocolate at Christmas

I will buy an empty calendar and make my own if I have to, but I was just wondering if anyone had spotted a ready made one out and about.

Just buy one of those wooden ones that are empty and add your own chocolate to it.
I had to get one last year for the kids as left it too late and all the advent calendars in the supermarkets near had sold out as it was the last day of November. Aldi just had those wooden ones so got one and a load of little chocolates. It actually worked out really well and was nicer than the usual cheap calendars.

Patty101 · 18/11/2022 15:07

Can't help you there then, the one I was referring to was one of the nasty ones off Amazon. My 4 year old thought it was the best thing in the world though!
Hope you find what you're looking for.

Justhereforthechristmasthreads · 18/11/2022 17:19

No help to you this year as they have been unable to do their usual advent calendar but have you tried pure heavenly chocolate? It's less than 1% sugar if that is suitable?

Pure heavenly

Ohuhu · 18/11/2022 18:45

Oh, no @Patty101 - didn't mean to insult your 4-year old! I'm sure he has a more refined palate than I do!

If it's because the person is diabetic then one which has high cocoa dark chocolate would be fine as it has a lot less sugar than milk.
