We've been hori hori fans for a while now and have exhausted the list of people we can give one to!

I bought the mini sickle (or scythe) and we rate that too for anyone who has already bought and given a hori hori.

Anything niwaki should be great, in my experience!

I have a different (japanese) brand but agree with above they're great. Use far more then a trowel. Mine has a serated side to saw through thin branches or roots. Its fantastic for weeding dandelions or other plants with deep roots. Planting bulbs is super quick with it too. Just stab, lever and put the bulb in.

As it happens I have asked for one for Christmas. Is the Niwaki the best one? DH has come back asking for recommendations- there’s too much choice out there.

Niwaki tools are superb. I'm desperate to upgrade my current bonsai tools for some of theirs, but it is going to cost a fortune.
