Greek Mythology was mentioned on another thread. It reminded me that my DB, who had a long Greek holiday in the summer, mentioned that he would like to understand more about mythology. Appreciate he can Google all of that but I thought a good book would make a great Christmas gift for him.
When I search online, I get a gazillion hits, hence asking on here to see if I can find what I have in mind.
What I would love is a book which tells the stories, beautifully illustrated and has photos of where in Greece the stories are supposed to have taken place .No idea if such a book exists but if you have something like that please let me know.
Thank you

I have no idea if such a book exists but the Stephen Fry book Mythos was a hit with Greek mythology living DS. I also gifted it to some friends with similar interests and they both bought the second book when it came out, so they must have liked it!

I was going to suggest Mythos as an alternative if you don’t find what you want. It’s very engaging and the audible version is excellent too.

Greek Mythology - Aphrodite to Zeus - Liv Albert is the one I have - it tries to give you the whole picture.

Thank you, will take a look at your suggestions - I wasn't sure I'd get any responses to this one, so am delighted, thank you!

D'aulaire's book of Greek myths is beautifully illustrated. It's really aimed at children (but written, but it's beautiful and very thorough. It may work in combination with something more wordy?

Thank you, will add that to the list of books to look at. Am hopeful that a big Waterstones might have some of these titles so I can look at them to see which I think he'd enjoy most.
