Holster belt wish from son

My son loves his nerf guns and police play but as an older child , at 9 wants a more realistic dress up. He would like a police/ utility belt to keep handcuffs and a torch and notebook etc in. Nerf do belts but they're very focused on nerf guns and darts whereas he'd love something like the pic but for kids. I've tried tool belts and utility belts and even (gulp ) gun belts but not finding anything in that older child bracket. Is he too old ? I hope not as he has a great imagination and I love that he still has some creative play.
The one in the pic is a men's one on Amazon

I know nerf guns aren't for everyone but if anyone knows how I could get such a thing for a child I'd be so grateful

Personally I’d say that the one you have found will be a good buy.

This type of belt folds back on itself, you measure it for the size of waist, fold over and the bits with the poppers are slides to hold that position (though it will naturally stay)

If it’s much too big then you can cut off part of the belt.

For the pouches he will only be able to wear as many as will fit around his waist - but he can choose the ones he prefers and swap them at other times.

The holster on many of these types of belts won’t hold something like a Nerf pistol, but that one looks like a generic adjustable one. It may not adjust enough for a Nerf pistol, but they can be destitched and something added.

In the past I have modified a couple of this style for old paintball pistols - I destitched the side, inserted a ‘pocket’ of plastic sheet folded to fit my pistol, then sewed it back together holding the pocket of plastic

Just wanted to chime in and say he's in no way too old! 9 isn't really even an older child - plenty of 11 year olds still play like that when nobody from outside the family is around (my 11 year old still plays imaginary fighting outside by himself or with one like-minded same aged friend). 9 year olds definitely should still be playing imaginary games, especially ones that include running about!

Tbh plenty of adults still play like that, just call it LARPing or battle re-enactment etc 😜

Aw thanks both - maybe one of those will be ok after all and thanks for not thinking he's odd
