Kitchen or other toy for toddler?

DS will be 16 months at Christmas and I'd like to get him a large standalone toy that will go in our kitchen for him to play with while I'm cooking, cleaning etc and that will last a few years. I'm thinking a nice play kitchen or shop - has anyone got any recommendations of good ones they've bought that have lasted and been a success? Struggling with where to start as there is so much on the market but obviously mostly online so I can't see them in person! Thanks!

We bought ours from IKEA, it was lovely and lasted years - the Duktig one. You can get some cool accessories from there too but your DS may not be quite old enough for some of them yet. The DC had years of play out of it - friends loved it too - and when we sold it last year, I did shed a tear! It has a good resale value as well.

Aldi do them at their toy event for £30, we got one 2 years ago and it is still going strong!
Failing that check out second hand ones on marketplace or another platform.

It's hard isn't it? My little boy will be 16 months old 2 days after Christmas and I'll be getting him a kitchen but there's so many to choose from!! I was going to go with the IKEA one but it doesn't have knobs :/

I love Aldi’s wooden toys. The kitchen was played with by both children for a good 3.5 years until we passed it on.

This is the one that we got our DDs. It’s a little tykes one. Not sure if it’s still available but if it is it’s definitely a good one, we had it 6 years and only got rid because we moved.

Definitely go wooden and sturdy, try and see a display one. I’m not opposed to plastic toys but for longevity the wooden ones are definitely best. I bought a smaller plastic one for my youngest dd after we moved, it barley lasted a week before things started to break.

We got this one too and had it for about 5 years before DS finally outgrew it. It remained in great condition despite a huge amount of play, and we sold it on Marketplace for about £50 (with accessories) so it held its value.

Toy kitchen was the best used toy by far with both my children when they were young. Lovely happy days.
We had the IKEA one on the basis of they use their imagination more with fewer details. I'm not sure whether there's any substance to that. That Little Tikes one looks great.

Aldi and IKEA ones are always good quality and great value.

We have also got that Little Tykes one, definitely recommend it for durability - although it is on the larger side compared to some others!
We got it for DS when he was 2 and he still plays with it now at 6. I keep asking him if he still wants it as it takes up so much room in his small bedroom but he won't let it go!
I see a lot of people recommending the IKEA one as well which I think is smaller.
