My family and I have decided to place a limit on the amount spent on presents this year. It makes sense as we’re all a bit more skint! I think we’re going for a £10 limit, (although £5 was also mentioned) so I’m looking for something unusual and hopefully special for my fab sister 🥰 she’s in her 50’s, likes knitting, crochet, gardening, has very sensitive skin so can’t use a lot of smellies, and doesn’t want anything to eat…she’s also teetotal. PLEASE HELP!

What about something personalised with her name on it? EBay has loads of stuff like that

Silver bookmark from Etsy?

I recently bought a lovely Monstera plant from ikea for £5. They also have pretty pots that are reasonably priced or you can get a plain terracotta one cheaply from a garden centre.

disclaimer: i love being given plants as presents!

How about some interesting yarn? Or some nice essential oil from neals yard if she can’t use it in herself she could use it in a steamer or burner. She may appreciate citronella to keep beasties away

Treats under £10 that bring me great joy…
A stoneware mug
Quirky earrings
A Journal - sainsburys do great bound ones frequently reduced
White company fragrance oils

I saw some really nice knobs <smirk> recently in Anthropologie. Wouldn’t go anywhere in my house as mainly none of our furniture really have them but fancied them anyway! I honestly think they’d make a lovely gift even if a bit strange and specific!

  • nice garden gloves
  • Garden secateurs or snips for flowers
  • A personalised sign for her garden (Kays garden, Rebeccas hidaway etc)
  • Earrings made from recycled plastic
  • I hate tiny cups/mugs. These are a decent size and great value:

  • Macrame holders for indoor plants
  • Nice garden pot filled with tulip bulbs from lidl (10bulbs for £1.79 currently)
  • There was a thread recently about a workshop where people with neurological problems made cards and gifts. There might be something similar near you for a unique gift.

Ooh some lovely ideas here, thank you so much! I’m quite keen on the gardening ideas, she hates winter so it may give her the ‘thing to do in spring’ to look forward to.

If I was lucky enough to have a dsis I would like a new scarf or some posh chocolates!
I got a Top Gardener mug this year and it's fab!

How about some stitch marks for her knitting? Lots on Etsy

TwoBigNoisyBoys · 25/09/2022 17:29

The stitch markers have been purchased! Thank you so much 🥰
