Anyone else going to try and get tickets on Monday?

I've never been before but thinking of getting tickets as my ds will be 4.

Any tips or things to be aware of?

We've been twice, but a few years ago when it was cheaper. We booked for about 4pm so it's dark when we go through and have dinner in the restaurant. It's nice to see all the fairy lights etc. Annoyingly the second time we went there was a woman who loudly said to us (in front of the dc) 'it's amazing how they set this all up isn't it?' And kept going on and on about how long it must take them to do the set and make it all snowy etc Hmm

What a nightmare thanks for keeping the magic alive ay!

I'm totally clueless around timings we live about 90 minutes away and wouldn't want a super late night although I suppose if they slept in the car I could just (fingers crossed) pop them in bed.

Hi.

Just jumping in as I'm interested in this. How much does it cost roughly?

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 14/03/2022 13:50

I haven't been to Lapland UK ( and mine are adults now so missed the boat )

According to searches , this year they'll put the tickets on sale for one day only on 21/03 /22
Prices from £59 (but prices increase for the more popular dates )
In the past years they've done SuperStar days .(children with disabilities accompanied by family/carers .)

One year they had to cancel a lot du to heavy snow , they couldn't re-book people as it was full and to keep the magic they try not to overcrowd.
So Insurance would be vital ! (Also small DC get ill before Christmas so plan ahead !)

Justdoingthisnow · 14/03/2022 19:02

@ReginaFilange001 on Facebook they have put a list of prices it's different depending on the day you choose. I think I'm going to give it a miss this year as I will have a 4 and a 20 month old think next year might be better as it's a lot to pay for a 20 month old who won't have a clue.

Thank you both for you replies.

I've now had a look and can see it's a lot of money. I may have to start saving for buying next March.

I have a 6 year old now - if we went next year she would be 7 (nearly 8) Would that be to old?

Voiceofreason92 · 16/03/2022 23:36

We went this year. my kids were 2,5 and 7.
Not sure they bought that they had really travelled to Lapland (which is what they tell the children) but they loved it.
Father Christmas was the best FC we’ve ever had. You email them ahead to time with information about your kids so when they are with the man himself he already knows all about your child. This really convinced my son that he was the real deal as he knew about his best friend and knew about his football team.

With that said, im not sure its worth the money. If you sent me there without telling me the cost i would 100% say it’s the best day out for the kids ever. But at nearly £500, its not worth it. Addedd to which there are plenty of opportunities through the day to spend even more money.
If you can afford it, and are happy to spend it, then its definitely worth a trip- but its jolly expensive so definitely one time only for us

ReginaFilange001 · 17/03/2022 12:28

Thank you.

I gave my head a wobble and decided to not get swept up in taking my child. She has always loved our local FC.

It's a lot of money and a travel for us - I realise it's a big experience but it's such a shame that a lot of experiences like this are so so expensive - we could afford it, but that doesn't mean we should do it.

I've booked tickets for The Nutcracker Ballet in London instead which were much cheaper and we will 'make do' with our regular local lovely FC !!!

starsparkle08 · 21/03/2022 13:12

God I’ve been in the queue for over an hour it’s doing my head in x

Drywhitefruitycidergin · 21/03/2022 13:24

We went last year and it was brilliant for dd2, 7 - the magic of the Christmas day surprise was incredible. something in my eye just typing this remembering She loved the whole experience.
Dd1, 10 enjoyed it but wasn't as blown away. Partly coz she was on crutches and had just come out of covid isolation & is older and a bit more cynical. Even on the cusp of not believing found the Christmas day part magical though.
Only issue for me was the queuing to see FC - over an hour when you are spending so much is pretty ropey customer service imo.
I've decided for the £500 to do something else this year but as a one off it was amazing and I'm glad we did it.
