They have about 30 each

Alot of them just bits and pieces (including knickers, socks, toothpaste etc that they will need)

But.....is this very excessive?

My Mum splurged out on a DSLite for DS2 with the brain training game. He is SEN and loves it when DD and her boyfriend come over and he can play stuff on boyfriends DS that everybody else does and he finds it easy. I havn't told him that it has game type games yet.
The rest of the pile is a kids cook book, an atlas, clothing, a kit for making things that fly, a kit for making a skeleton, Scooby Doo annual and a DVD of Shrek 3. Apart from the Ds I dont think the rest came to £60.00

Haven't counted them inlcuding all the stocking bits (which include all the stuff like socks etc) but I looked at what we had bought dd for under the tree last night when I bought them down to DH I did say - perhaps we should save some of these for her birthday (end of Jan). We manage to take 2 out of the stash !

Am glad!

I remember her wanting a pink aga!

But back to OP, I think that present giving is all about everyone being happy in the end. My dcs are young and the presents they have got are fairly expensive, so have fewer of them. And they get so many from other people too, that I'm trying to be as abstemious as possible for as long as I can. I knwo that when they are older, the number of parcels to open will become more important, as will the presents themselves, so am taking it as easy as possible while I can!

ha, till oldest dc was 4 I managed to get away with a sticker book and some chocolate.
3 years later number has expanded considerable (well, 6 in total I think but a bit more expensive...)
