Dd2 is having a new bike (mega halfords bargain, so chuffed). Anyway my dad collected it from the shop for me and I asked him to keep it at his as I have onwhere to store it out of eyesight.

He has said that as he is going to visit very early on xmas morning, he will wrap the bike up in it's box, bring it with him and then assemble it for dd.

I was fine with this at first, but have just been putting the kids pressies in bags and dd's pile is going to look so small when she walks in the room compared to Dd1 and Ds.

My dad hates xmas and has been very very grumpy these past few weeks and I don't think he'll be imprsessed if i ring and ask him to bring it over xmas eve and assemble it, but what shall I say to dd2 ??

My dad might be here before she gets up but i don't know. If it isn't here she is going to wonder and I hate to think of her sat there thinking Santa has forgot her main pressie.

I k now it is boring, but the thought of the piles being different sizes is giving me palpatations LOL.

Personally i would want it there and assembled ready for when she gets up.

Can you assemble it?
I have had to do a few now and its not too difficult.

nutcracker · 22/12/2007 23:37

I think it has gears though, does that not make it harder to assemble ??

Have just realised that it actually is her very first bike as technically the other 2 she has had were her sisters first, and one of those was from a car boot

I think I will ask him to bring it over.

I don't know! We haven't progresed to gears yet. lol!
It will be much nicer for her to see it already assembled than to open a box of bike parts and wait for assembly.

Yes thats exactly what I was thinking. Will ring him in the morning and beg LOL.

I got mine in Halfords too (well, dd's)

Wasn't it built up when you got it?

If not I would ask your dad nicely to bring it ove to you on Xmas eve when dd was in bed & then you can build it up There's bound to be instructions

nutcracker · 22/12/2007 23:51

I don't think it was built up because he said it was boxed and he did go and collect it in his Smart car LOL.

Oh that's good!

I got DD a bike with gears for her birthday and it was just really the handles, pedals and seat and front wheel that had to go on, if i remember correctly, so the hard bit (the gears and the wheel) was already done!

Good luck!
