How early do I need to be at Tesco to avoid ALL the people?

Last time I was there at 5am and it was bliss. As I left the store at 6 the shoppers were crowding in - thinking they were the early birds but I had the worm. I went home, put it all in the fridge and went back to bed.
I just can't face it this time. What time in the morning has anyone been and how was it for you?!

just DO NOT go at midnight..dh and I did this a few years ago[we had been at friends house] as we only needed bread and milk and it was horrendous. People were waiting for the doors to open and was like something from a film where you had to leg it for the food oyu wanted!!!!

I got back from doing ours about an hour ago, both Waitrose and Sainsburys were quite. Had to go to Sainsburys as Waitrose was too posh to stock tins of quality street!

Shop local, avoid Tesco! that should do the trick

Can vouch to avoid Asda at 2am, did that once and had to wrestle to get most things

I went to Port Glasgow Tesco a couple of weeks ago, it's well nice in there. I work in the Helensburgh store, thats open today 9-8 (2 hours later then normal) and tomorrow 6am-5pm. Unfortunately for me i'm working tomorrow afternoon . With 15 years of working for Tesco, I think xmas eve in the afternoon is not too bad . You get the baragin hunters after all the reductions, lol. Yesterday morning we opened at the usual time of 7:30 and didn't get busy till just after 8.
