Yes, it's just a big roast dinner. My dad is voicing concerns about how I will "cope" doing Christmas dinner for my mum and sister ... er, I'm a 27 year old women, not a feeble minded child

Magrat · 22/12/2007 18:23

but, you who art so wise?

never knew that

yes 27. was 24 when I started posting

But anyway you're not helping my "grown up lady, not a feeble minded child" argument here. 27 is Grown Up!

Last minute jitters Twig?

Ocado are sending out Turkey Twizzlers as an acceptable 'alternative' you know

coldtits · 22/12/2007 18:29

Not wise anyway. Opinionated.

Am also at Colditz youthfulness.

But yes I don't get this whole ohmygoditschristmasdinnerhowcanwecope thing. It's the only meal I know where you can walk into M&S buy everything you need right down to ready prepared sprouts, bung into oven, drink cava, and wait for compliments.

Look, just because I sound like a bigoted ol' gimmer doesn't mean I can't get trashed and go clubbing wear the latest shoe fashions, you know.

Actually, last time I got trashed and went clubbing I got ID'd at the door - it was October this year.

bonkerzaboutxmas · 22/12/2007 18:55

im 29 and could only wish i get IDd at the club!
Off out tonight avtually to get trashed and dance!!!

The only thing that I find stressful about Christmas cooking is when you're doing tons of entertaining in a rather short space of time. Christmas dinner itself is a doddle in my opinion (provided I'm sober enough to keep it all together) - unless you end up cooking for over 20 people without considering the fact that you oven space will cater for 10 at most . It is when you end up with a party on Christmas Eve, cooking on Christmas Day, more rellies over for Boxing Day and friends who are back in the vicinity for one week only and who have to visit you as they're staying with their parents.

I'm also trying to work out whether the fact that Christmas is on Tuesday changes the dynamic somewhat. I'm feeling far more relaxed about this Christmas than I have done for the last few. I've even finished my NEXT sale shopping, so can relax on Boxing Day!

It is just a big roast dinner, til you add in hyper children, visiting relatives, the need to ensure that everything is "just so".

hehehe.

Ice cream for us.

coldtits · 22/12/2007 22:07
