We took the dc's to see FC today, at a little steam railway place.

For £11 a head (including adults) we got mulled wine, tea/coffee, mince pies, squash and biscuits, then a ride on the train which included an encounter with Jack Frost, then back to the train station where FC came down the chimney, told the children a story and gave out presents for everyone. V. good.

We went to the local farm park. It was £7.95 per child with one free adult (usually £9.95 but went with toddler group). We had a couple of hours in the farm and soft play area, then tea (kids lunch box inc jam sandwiches!) and santa came in and they all went up one by one for a chat and present. Really lovely and a bargain as usually I'd pay £5.95 for entrance so just £2 extra for tea and present!

uk lapland. £150 - shite.

normally go to van hagues or audley end steam railway - much cheaper and 100 times better.

Free from the wonderful place we buy the Christmas tree every year, They come and saw it down for you so kids spend ages choosing one!!

(£15 for gorgeous eight foot tree not bad either!).

tassisssss · 21/12/2007 22:25

we didn't take them...ds(4) had him come to nursery party and dd(15 months) had him at toddlers. i'm hoping he might be at dobbies tomorrow afternoon if we pop there for a wee coffee and cake, but dh doesn't know that plan yet!

wrappingpaperBOwZZAndribbons · 21/12/2007 22:27

going on the Embsay and Bolton Abbey Steam Railway Santa Special tomorrow - will try to remember to report back. Think it is £8 each for me and DS and DD because both are 3+.
