Any ideas?

I've met him a couple of times, he's early twenties, into gaming but I don't know what games and wouldn't want to spend that much, max. £10 I think. He doesn't have his own place yet. I just can't think so wondered if anyone can suggest something. TIA

Amazon voucher?

MobyDicksTinyCanoe · 28/12/2021 00:08

B&M have loads of cheap gaming stuff in..... Ps4 mugs, controller charging stands etc all at a good price

TheresACrackInEverything · 28/12/2021 00:14

Budweiser tat goes down well with that age group. Stuff for walls, glasses etc.

Mrsbrownsbuoys · 28/12/2021 00:20

Thanks, I'll have a look. I don't have a B&M nearby, something off Amazon would be easiest. I just didn't want to get tat he'll throw away.

Do you really though? Christmas has been and gone. You might just embarrass him. I’d check with your daughter.

SnarkyBag · 28/12/2021 00:28

Yeah don’t buy him tat, it’s a waste of your money and you’re saddling him with useless clutter.

CallMeNutribullet · 28/12/2021 00:34

Just get him some beers or something

Ceramide · 28/12/2021 00:34

A waffle maker
Mini hamper of cheese, spicy relish, chutney, beer
A gaming themed notebook/mug/cushion

Takingabreakagain · 28/12/2021 00:48

For around £10 I'd just go for beers or a bottle of spirit
Or go for an Amazon voucher - my DS always says it's as good as getting money

MissMaple82 · 28/12/2021 00:50

10 pound gaming gift voucher. Playstation/xbox/steam/Microsoft

MolkosTeenageAngst · 28/12/2021 00:51

I think food, alcohol or an Amazon voucher are probably your best bets. But also, Christmas is over and he’s turning up at short notice so do you even need to get him a gift? I wouldn’t expect one is those circumstances.

Mrsbrownsbuoys · 28/12/2021 01:07

Dd got one from his parents, I just thought it would be polite to get one.

Just to clarify, I'll be giving dd some small presents at the same time, as haven't seen her for over a month, she doesn't live at home.

Gift set of some craft beers.

A book or tshirt related to something he is interested in.

TurquoiseBaubles · 28/12/2021 01:19

In a similar situation I filled a small stocking - a bottle of beer, some fudge, a pack of cards and some chocolate coins. And something else, can't remember what Confused.

Total value was about a tenner, excluding the stocking (which I nicked from ds).

BackAwayFatty · 28/12/2021 01:39

Find out what gaming console he has & buy a voucher for that?

caringcarer · 28/12/2021 02:21

Chocolate hamper, Maltesers, Mars bars, Matchmakers, selection pack. My twenty something son loves to get chocolate.

DockOTheBay · 28/12/2021 03:56

To be honest I wouldn't bother, I'm sure he hasn't got you anything. If you really want to I would go for consumables like beer or chocolate.

MimiDaisy11 · 28/12/2021 04:11

I agree about the gaming voucher. Just ask your daughter what gaming he does and then get voucher for that. My mum used to get my partner gift cards for Steam which is a pc gaming platform but best to check.

Not everyone likes buying from Amazon.

HerbivorousRex · 28/12/2021 05:49

My parents always do local beer/cider or nice chocolates and some festive socks from Joules/FatFace for any boyfriends or girlfriends that my brothers and I have brought home over Christmas.
It’s inoffensive and gets used (mum checks with us if they drink alcohol/have dietary requirements).
No-one is expecting anything particularly exciting from their girlfriend’s parents, just a nice token gift (I have received various boxes of chocolate, bottles of wine and general stuff from Bodyshop/Lush over the years so I’m pretty sure most parents do roughly the same thing!)

Joystir59 · 28/12/2021 05:51

Chocolate

NinaDefoe · 28/12/2021 05:58

Bottles of Beer & chocolate.

Ginandplatonic · 28/12/2021 06:03

Yes local craft beer and/or chocolate. My late teen son was in a couple of secret Santas with different groups of friends and novelty socks were the other popular one - like with avocados/ducks/sheep/chillis etc all over.

HikingforScenery · 28/12/2021 12:54

If you choose alcohol, be sure he actually drinks.
