I've always loved xmas pudding but this year I looked at one in the shops and realised that i absolutely cannot stomach it.

I'm having rice pudding instead.

I’ve always hated Christmas Pudfing!

I'm having a similar issue with mince pies. I usually eat loads of them throughout December but this year I reached peak mince pie by about 10th December and now I can't face one!

LaurieFairyCake · 24/12/2021 14:44

I love mince pies but I can only eat 3 a year - and I've had mine Grin

They're so lovely but so rich

onedayoranother · 24/12/2021 15:20

Trifle seems to be a staple at Christmas but the very thought of it makes me sick to my stomach. I've never liked it. Don't like Christmas pudding either but do like a good Christmas cake with a cup of tea (preferably my mum's, if we ever unearth her recipe)!

NalPolishRemover · 24/12/2021 15:26

I like mince pies but we only buy 1 or possibly 2 boxes. I'd be sick of them too if we had then more frequently. And I don't eat them until v close to christmas

I think the problem is people start way too early each year.

I try to keep Christmas food for the Christmas period not from November onwards

For nostalgia/ tradition sake I like to have a bit of most of the traditional foods though I never liked pudding so give that a miss. I adore sherry trifle though and always have for my Christmas dessert. Wouldn't be Christmas without it

I am not from the UK so the first time I had mince pies it was at uni. I went mince pie mad and had what was close to my lifetime allotment of them that first Christmas. Now I can only have a couple every Christmas season. My family always has a buche de noel on Christmas Eve and day and limiting it to the one buche on one weekend helps to not get sick of it.

I also find I get sick of set Christmas menus at restaurants (it's too close to what we have for Thanksgiving and Christmas), but I really love Christmas themed other things, like a burger with cranberry and brie for example.

I had no idea what buche de noel was = Yule log apparently.

My lovely colleague (waves if she finds this) serves her Christmas Pudding WITH rice pudding. In the same bowl.

I love rice pudding. I made an apple pie today and we've just had it with custard, much nice in my opinion. Tomorrow there will be Christmas pudding for DH and trifle for GS and me.

I'm actually sick of the sight of food. I have bought loads, I didn't want to have to go out for top ups next week and we were due to have family here but they are still having positive LFT so they won't be here tomorrow, maybe Boxing Day. I feel revolted looking in the fridge/freezer/cupboard and will be so happy as it starts reducing.

I've got a delivery booked for the 30th but not sure what to order as who knows if we will have the visitors we are expecting. It is currently for a fullhouse but if lockdown happens I will be knocking loads off.

Merry Christmas.

I started on mince pies in September. I love them.

I love home made mince pies with a streusel topping. Made and ate some earlier for pudding after our roast. Lovely and crunchy.

Every day we stray further from God's light.

Idk why but all day I've been thinking of having an Indian curry tomorrow (chana to be specific) so random right...... Even though we've got enough Xmas fayre to feed the 5 thousand

RavingAnnie · 25/12/2021 14:54

I have never liked Christmas pud but rice pudding is an odd choice. There are so many other better more xmassy pudding choices....mince pie, Yule log, trifle, even a steamed pudding with custard....

Oh it has never occurred to me it's always in English here! I'm from the US and it's always been in French when I've bought one there, although obviously it could differ regionally.
