Leg of lamb for christmas too big

So it’s my first year cooking Christmas dinner

We always have 3 meats turkey, pork and another - I’ve chosen lamb

I normally cook it in the slow cooker but it’s too big so won’t fit in whole. I won’t have oven space for it! Can I cut the meat off the bone and still cook it in the slow cooker?

Any tips? Many thanks!

Cut a bit off with a hacksaw or hatchet!

Roast it in the oven on 80/90°C overnight.... approximately 8-9 hours.

Cook the lamb today - slice tomorrow and heat-up in the gravy.

Yes, that's a better idea!

Could the pork go in slow cooker, otherwise go with roast ahead.

Yes yes to doing the lamb really slowly at a very low heat.

Put in a baking dish, add rosemary and red wine, cover tightly with oiled aluminium foil (so the skin doesn’t stick to the foil) and put in the oven. I do 8 hours atabiut100 C. But the PP who suggests overnight at 89 or 90 is also great advice!

It falls off the bone and is so easy to serve and eat.

I would bone it out (butterfly), soak it garlic, lemon juice and thyme for a bit and whack it on the barbie ( even if I was in the uk). Half an hour on one side, twenty minutes on the other, rest for ten and it will be smiles all round.
