Simple ways to jazz up the veg

We are going to a relative's house for Christmas day but I am doing the cooking.
They will have already bought all of the basic veg but I'm looking for easy ways to make them a bit more special without adding loads of extra ingredients. Just to make it a bit more special than a normal roast.
Any ideas would be gratefully received.

Oh, I'm already sorted for roast potatoes and parsnips and have had a request for my usual braised red cabbage so that is sorted.

A bit of honey and thyme perks up my carrots (that isn't a euphemism).

Can't help with sprouts I'm afraid, I actually quite like them so I just steam them as they are.

Came on to suggest honey - it’s very versatile. Carrots or parsnips with a bit of cinnamon, or roll the pigs in blankets in honey and grain mustard and back in the oven for 5 minutes ( not a vegetable but very popular here)
Sprinkle with pomegranate seeds and warm though.

Honey and butter.

Sauteed pancetta with sprouts is lush.

I know you've said you're sorted for parsnips but just in case it inspires anyone else - a delicious alternative to honey is to mix grated parmesan with polenta and coat the parsnips in that - you get a salty, crunchy coating that contrasts beautifully with the sweet parsnip. Then you can save your honey for the carrots Smile

Mango chutney in the pigs and blankets, just a big teaspoon once they are cooked and then back in the oven to warm

Carrots- honey, mustard and balsamic vinegar (just a splash) with thyme in a pan and then glazed over them when they are cooked

Fry cabbage in pancetta

Rock salt and rosemary on potatoes

Lots of butter on the peas

Take some fresh herbs to sprinkle on them just before serving? I like my sprouts plain too, but it do provide a wee dish of chopped chestnuts to go with if people prefer. I used to crumble the crunchy bacon from the top of the turkey in with the chestnuts too, but since we've been barbecuing the turkey I leave it un-baconed.
