Just curious...
Do you wrap each child's presents in different wrapping paper or just wrap randomly as long as they've got names on...
Babies 3 and 1... Its not like they'll know any different at this time is it 😂

I use a different wrapping paper for each child. I wrap their stocking presents in the same colour also so they know which is theirs in their bedrooms and then make a beeline when they come down.

God no! Too much effort, and anyway, part of the fun is finding out which presents are for you when taking them out from under the tree on Christmas Day!

Needcoffeecoffeecoffee · 20/12/2021 16:23

Different paper. Easier when half asleep trying to put presents in sacks. And if one gets in the wrong place then the dc just swap it over
Also then dont need name tags

WombatChocolate · 20/12/2021 16:29

Using newspaper this year. Attempting to be more green.
We have got reusabale jute bags with Christmas patterns. Everyone’s Christmas presents in newspaper go into one of those pretty bags. The bags get reused next year.

Tags are made from old Christmas cards or the brown card on delivery packaging.

I match each matching gift to the others. So eg if all 3 have a train, the train will be in the same paper. If one has a doll, one has a polly pocket and one has a horse but they all "match" then they are wrapped the same too. We don't have a free for all on Christmas morning though, everyone gets a gift, opens it and looks at what everyone else had then we move on, so this way I make sure that anything that is the same is opened at the same time.

Forgetaboutme · 20/12/2021 16:37

We wrap in all different paper with a nametag and all gets put mixed up under the tree. I know some people like to seperate the presents in different piles. Its just whatever you prefer. I just do it the way my parents did and can't imagine it a different way.

Friolero · 20/12/2021 16:38

Everyone has a different type of wrapping paper so I don't need to bother labelling anything!

Whitefire · 20/12/2021 19:19

DH does the wrapping. Each child has their own paper.

He is wrong, but I am not inclined enough for it to be done right, so I just let him get on with it.

sunshineandrain82 · 20/12/2021 20:46

We use one wrapping paper per a child.
2 of our children can't read so we find it easier as we can get them to look for their own paper without having to sort through names. (Multiple children wanting names read at once isn't fun)

BrieAndChilli · 20/12/2021 21:34

We have Santa wrapping paper and each child has thier own Santa paper. It differed each year depending on current likes eg Thomas tank or unicorns when they were little migrating to Star Wars and sloths. Thier stocking presents are wrapped in it and then the couple of bigger Santa presents that are under the tree are in the same paper. Other gifts are then in assorted paper.

Pollydoll110 · 20/12/2021 21:47

Thank you! I did have enough paper to do the same paper for each child
There pile of presents are tiny so now I havr mum guilt that I haven't brought enough!
3 year old has 10 to open, and 1 year old has 8 to open plus a wooden pram we will build Xmas eve.

Presents from Santa have certain wrapping paper, a different kind for each dd and DS, this wrapping paper doesn’t get used for anything else as they are very observant and would notice the wrapping paper being used from Santa and me. presents from me are whatever wrapping paper I feel at the time, got gift tags so no confusion.

That’s quite a few presents. More than mine have each and they’re older. Are get going to open them throughout the day? They’ll get overwhelmed otherwise, I think
TheChosenTwo · 20/12/2021 23:32

Everything under the tree (so from us) has ‘free for all’ paper, so a random assortment.
Stocking presents used to be separate for each child but they’re all getting older now and I don’t bother, they just get wrapped with what’s leftover and needs using up. Previously I had 3 different types of paper and each child received one type on their wrapped Santa stocking presents.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 21/12/2021 00:27

i wrap everything in brown paper with a tag. nothing differetn for anyone

AutumnAnn · 21/12/2021 00:55

My kids are 3 years and 5 months, we use whatever wrapping paper we have in the house, this year is a mixture of red glittery paper left over from last year and a pink wrapping paper with unicorns and snowflakes on I picked up last week, we don't use tags, just write a name on it somewhere small with a biro.

StrangeAddiction · 21/12/2021 01:21

Each dc has their own paper so I don't need to bother with faffy labels. I wrap as I go and now put their presents into their initialled Christmas sack, when they were younger their presents would be in their own piles and it was a free for all while they opened them! Now that they're older they take it in turns to open their presents so it's easier to video and they can appreciate their haul better.

If your 3 year old was given 10 presents on a random day in June, would he be happy? Or think 'it's not enough'?

That's what Christmas will be like for him. He has no concept!! Enjoy them while they're little & very easily pleased & excited!!

I get four or five rolls that tie in together - this year I've gone traditional so the papers are either red patterned or green based. Then I wrap the resents so no one has more than two presents wrapped in the same paper, so everyone gets a variety of paper. For variety I wrap soft things with tissue paper in a cracker shape tied at the ends with ribbon.
