Gifts for lovely 60-70 yr old couple I don't know we'll

Just found out my SIL's parents have come from France for Crimble. I love SIL and have met her lovely parents before but don't know them well, and there is complete language barrier between us. They are very generous with gifts for our DC and also give small lovely things for us.
SIL has suggested one thing her mum wants. About £7.
Looking for a few more ideas that your average ageing French couple might like ?!

Are they driving or flying? If driving, then a hamper of English chutney/marmalade type things… but that’s quite heavy if you have to heave your own luggage…

Driving. But yes I was wondering about how much we could expect them to lug home.
Plus do I have the audacity to gift English cheese hamper to the French?!

I’d avoid cheese, OP. Trying to keep it from going off in a warm car for a potentially very long car journey through England and France would be difficult, and they may face import restrictions about taking foreign dairy produce into France.
Why not some less perishable British products, such as biscuits?

Tin of Shortbread?

I'm 'ageing' and I'd quite like some weed, but that's a whole other story. Grin

Thanks @OnAWinterMorningFarAway do you know where I can get some? Grin

Is there anywhere local that sells local?

I was thinking of a shop near me that sells lovely local candles, chocolate, soap, crafts etc. Local beer, honey are available too.

Fruit cake (Dundee type)

Sloe gin or rhubarb gin

Old fashioned English sweets, mint humbugs, fudge, butterscotch toffee etc

Perhaps something from Penhaligan or Floris?

Jar of Gentleman's Relish.

If you are near a good museum, their shops often have interesting local craft items.
