Exactly that! Sorted into piles. Dh, dd, ds, dgd, dsil, family, friends.
I always start with the family and friends, presents wrapped nicely, bow and label. Close family roughshod and name written in sharpie pen!
Right, The Archers on catch up iron board ready, here I go.
Anyone else starting theirs?

I've got a mountain to do today! I started so well, wrapping as I got a few big key items a month or so ago but once again I've let everything else build up! Just having a bath then bracing myself.
I do love wrapping once I get going

Over the past few years I've just wrapped mine in little bursts as they arrive. But actually, I don't recommend it. You forget what you've bought (I keep a list but don't remember to update it) then just keep buying more and more...

I definitely recommend wrapping as you go, or at least in batches, I have a separate cardboard box for everyone (just ones things have been delivered in) so I don't need tags except for presents going to other houses. These are unfortunately on top of my wardrobe now I'm WFH and the spare room is an office.

Once the tree is up everything goes under the tree or in dc's sacks except for stocking presents and pet presents.

I also have a spreadsheet on my phone which helps, so I don't lose track, much less stressful than a huge last minute packing marathon. I appreciate that doesn't help now, but in terms of planning for next year I would suggest making a list as you wrap, I keep a track of ever I've bought and how much I spent so you've got a head start.

I buy a different roll of paper for different people then make a note of who's paper is who.

I did this because I got fed of up my dad guessing his presents, now he gets told on Christmas Day which paper is his!

Just finished! Now I found it a game changer just using the same wrapping paper. No chopping and changing, just keep rolling. Bigger the roll the better.
I have wrapped a bit at a time in the past but dreaded going back to it. For me it is easier to lay out everything ( means waiting I suppose till nearer Christmas ) and just go for it.
Good luck everyone with yours and thanks for the company and solidarity!

I use giftmate wrapping bags!

Proudboomer · 18/12/2021 21:08

I gave up wrapping once my children were no longer children. I use gift bags. The card factory does 3 for £1 so by the time you factor in buying paper, tape and gift labels I doesn’t work out that much more expensive. Over the last few years I have also saved previously used gift bags and re use them.
