I know this isn't really of intertest to anyone but me. And I know that I should really be writing Christmas cards.

But I'm so excited about my little girl's first ever stocking! She's going to love it! She'll open it on Christmas morning with her daddy and me and the dog in the big bed, and I just can't wait!

I've put in...

A rag doll
A torch
An alice band with flowers on
A sparkly coin purse
A Unicef landrover with doors that open
A rubber duck for the bath that changes colour
A sweet little painted hairbrush and mirror set
And I'll put in some chocolate coins and an orange.

I'm going to wrap it all on Christmas eve.

So excited!

how old is she?

i'm really excited about stockings this year too!

BroccoliSpears · 19/12/2007 13:47

She's nearly 20 months. Just the right age to enjoy delving into a stocking to find more treasures and unwrap them!

BS - I am excited for you . I'm really excited about my little girl's stocking too -she's 4.5. I love buying little things to put in - nothing more than a couple of £'s but I know they are all things she will love - new pencils, hair clips and the skipping rope she asked Santa for.

I'm always excited about DD's stocking and she's 12 this year!

My best one was when she and DH had been trying, without luck to get a Jesse doll (from Toy Story) out of a grabbing machine at the seaside. I mentioned then, that she should ask Father Christmas for one and I managed to fine one!

I left it sticking out of the top of her stocking and DH and I lay in bed listening to her cries of sheer delight! Magical!

I hope your dd is as pleased as we were!

Good to know that I'll not grow out of this as she gets older then!

The lovely thing is that when they're young, something for a few pennies can be the most exciting thing in the world.

I have got my DS the Unicef landrover with the opening doors too! I think you can take the spare wheel out too!

BroccoliSpears · 19/12/2007 14:10

It looks really good, doesn't it Mairsey. I'll unscrew it from the base before giving it to her. It's bigger than I expected. AND the steering wheel actually turns the front wheels!!

Still only a few pennies here too! And girls are sooo much easier! You'd be amazed at how much cheap tat jewellery you can get in Primark for a 12 year old!
