Toy Red rocket

My 5yr old DD has finally revealed that she asked santa for a red rocket. I've done a little digging and I think she has played with the Happyland one at a friends house. That one is aimed at 2-5year olds, so I was wondering if anyone is aware of one that might be suitable slightly older kids. Or do you have a child older than 5 that still enjoys Happyland toys? She does have a little sister so I suppose even if she only has a year play out of it her sister will probably play with it.

If you mean one [[https://sellitedesign.co.uk/product/early-learning-centre-happyland-lift-off-rocket-imagination-playset-with-4-space-figures-vehicle-with-light-and-sound-effects-for-toddlers-ages-2-to-5-years/]] my kids both played with it for years and years! and so did I Happy memories :o

We also had a space buggy thing you could get separately, but I can't find that. Or you could get her the rocket, along with a fun book about rockets or space, or a star projector(something like [[https://www.amazon.co.uk/Brainstorm-Toys-Planetarium-Projector-Nightlight/dp/B004S6QWDG/ref=asc_df_B004S6QWDG/?hvlocphy=9046897&linkCode=df0&hvptwo&psc=1&psc&hvnetw=g&hvadid=310734995700&hvpone&hvlocint&th=1&hvpos&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl&hvqmt&tag=mumsnetforu03-21&hvtargid=pla-756708358952&hvrand=147751172754122831501]] maybe) to add more interest.

Great, thank you that's the one. As it happens I've got her the usbourne space book already. And that planetarium looks good too!

It’s not red but this playmobil one looks pretty cool.

ProfInkly · 14/12/2021 17:56

I keep showing her the playmobil one asking if that would do, but she is adamant she wants a red one Hmm.

She's five. The thing she asked Santa for us neither unreasonably priced nor dangerous. Bite the bullet. It isn't for you. If you can afford it and you know she'll love it then why are you waiting?

I speak as one who knew that exH was bringing what dd had asked FC for, so FC brought a different present at about that age. She played with the thing Santa brought for years, but the initial wail of 'oh Mummy look! He got it wrong Mummy! He gave my present to someone else!' Still stays with me 20 years on. I can't even remember what she'd asked for originally.

MrsMadderRose · 14/12/2021 18:10

I agree, it's a great toy and its what she wants and she'll love it!

ProfInkly · 14/12/2021 18:18

I will probably get her the happyland one, was just asking if anyone else could recommend any other ones that might also fit her request. I'm definitely not spending £40 on a toy she says she doesn't want. That's a lot of money for me.

My children played with their happyland rocket for years! They absolutely loved it.

DeathMetalMum · 14/12/2021 18:30

Mine played with HappyLand for ages too. At five she will get at least a year or two if not longer. Youngest is nearly 9 and we have only in the last 18 months put the happyland in the loft as it was still played with.

ProfInkly · 14/12/2021 18:30

That's good to hear, thanks!

My 6 yr old got her happy land rocket 3 years ago and it still gets hauled out very regularly and is popular with other 6 and 7 year olds visiting. Definitely get it.
