Suggestions for gifts that cost nothing!

A tough ask, but I'm hoping for suggestions for gifts that cost nothing!
My mum is insisting we spend nothing on her for Christmas and will be cross if we do. We can afford to buy her presents, but she is of a generation that doesn't waste money and she would rather we spent it on the kids. There are other family politics at play, but I've reluctantly agreed to respect her wishes. I'd like to make a little box (I already have a nice one) and fill it with things that don't cost money (or very little). I'm thinking baked goods, art work from the kids, home made vouchers etc. Does anyone have suggestions or other ideas? She is mid 70s, widowed, likes reading and knitting, relatively fit and active.
Any suggestions gratefully received!

These are all such great ideas! Thank you.
Yes, there is a long list of little jobs that we're going to do for her (not as a present, just because she's finally asked for help doing them! - we had asked but she kept saying no).

Download a video app and make her a Christmas video?
If DCs into sports could have snippets of things she hasn't seen them doing?

Collect pretty things when out on walks (shells, pine cones etc) then layer them in a glass jar (reuse a marmalade jar for extra money savings)

Can layer with sand etc and make a story. If you did it with stuff sourced on walks you all went on together it would have special meaning.

It's also the sort of thing that can be emptied out into the garden and the jar recycled when it's fulfilled it's purpose.

Would spending points count? Do you have boots points or similar you could spend on something small and useful that wouldn't fall foul of the brief?

Could you write a short 'memories' book/ scrapbook for her filled with photos of you both together from when you were young to adult, plus her grandchildren, with little anecdotes and memories of special times, holiday memories, favourite food she used to cook, etc etc.and what you love about your mum. It would be free but very, very special.

I think that would mean the world to you DM especially as you know that she now wants your help.

Time is the most valuable thing you can give to someone because you can never get it back.

When my kids were little we didn't have any money for a present for my husband, so I got the kids to make up a play which I filmed. They did a day in the life of their dad and dressed up as him. It was really adorable as they even made a cardboard box car for the driving scene. They made bookmarks and some cookies too.

Get the DC to make her a pomander! My MIL likes biscuits the DC have made.

Bake some cookies or make some chocolate.
DIY salt dough Christmas decoration (bonus: you’ll have a lovely crafting afternoon with the DC)
Print a nice photo of her and the DC and put it in a cheap frame from charity shop /pound shop
Make some simple jewelry

Or buy something nice and crafty from Etsy and say you made it Grin

Write her a poem

We always do home made presents from the kids to their grand parents. One of the best we've done has been home made sweets. If you search online there are loads of good recipes and if you do a couple of different things you can make up a box with different varieties etc. My kids decorate the box too.

A personalised poem perhaps, you could even put it in a frame.
